Poof

How to make furniture from plastic bottles? This process is considered quite simple. The following is a step-by-step instruction explaining how to get a full-fledged soft ottoman from bottles:

  • an incision is made in the widest part of the bottle;
  • the neck of another bottle is inserted into it;
  • this process will be carried out until a design of optimal height suitable for the planned ottoman is achieved;
  • the resulting sufficiently long workpiece must be well fixed, for which it is tightly and securely wrapped on all sides with tape;
  • several such blanks are made, each having the same height;
  • they are tightly connected to each other using tape, resulting in a round structure that resembles a standard ottoman in appearance;
  • Then such a product is lined with foam rubber on all sides to create a truly soft ottoman, which is comfortable for constant use;
  • The completed structure is sheathed with any upholstery fabric so that it is attractive and fits well into a particular interior.

Thus, plastic bottles make a comfortable ottoman with optimal dimensions. It can be covered with different types of fabric, so a material is selected that is perfectly suited to the tastes of future users. Photos of different types of ottomans are presented below. If you are making doll furniture, then it is advisable to purchase small bottles, and you will also have to act more painstakingly, since you will have to cut out many small elements from the elements.

Shelf

For novice craftsmen who do not have experience working with bottles, creating a simple shelf is considered an excellent solution. Such shelves can be placed not only in the countryside in the open air, but even in residential premises. They are considered relevant for use in a pantry or even in a children's room. The resulting shelves are fixed to the wall of the room, so they do not take up much space in the room, and at the same time can be used to store various items.

The entire process of creating a shelf is divided into stages:

  • the optimal shape and size for the future shelf is determined;
  • the bottles are cut off in the part where there is a neck, and these elements are not needed for subsequent work;
  • the elements are coated with acrylic paints so that the resulting structure has an attractive appearance;
  • after they dry, they are connected to each other, after which they are covered with various decorative elements;
  • Properly made shelves are fixed to the wall with self-tapping screws or other suitable fasteners.

Shelves can be made using plywood, to which the blanks are fixed, and this design will be the most reliable.

Sofa

An interesting solution for any garden plot or cottage would be a sofa made from plastic bottles. To do this, follow the following steps:

  • two-liter bottles are purchased, and their number cannot be less than 500, since a smaller number will not be enough to obtain the optimal size of the sofa;
  • standard adhesive tape is used as fastening, but it must be wide enough;
  • bottles are not very strong elements, therefore, under the influence of significant load they are easily crushed, so it is imperative to make a strong and rigid base for the furniture;
  • The top part of each bottle is cut off, after which it is inserted neck down into the lower element;
  • the next bottle is inserted into the resulting base, covered with the previously cut bottom;
  • then bottles of 2 elements are connected in the same way, after which they are securely and firmly wrapped with tape;
  • a direct structure is formed from the modules made, and approximately 17 modules are usually needed for sitting;
  • These elements are used to assemble the seat, then the back, and then the armrests;
  • All the resulting parts of the future sofa are connected to each other with tape.

During the process you will need a large amount of tape, so it is recommended to purchase a lot of this material in advance.

Stool

A small stool is considered the easiest to create. It can have various unusual shapes, so it is often intended for children. The process of its creation is divided into stages:

  • approximately 10 two-liter bottles are prepared;
  • they are tightly rewound using tape;
  • separate sections are made from 3 or 4 bottles, which are tied to the main structure in different ways and from different sides;
  • it is important to use a large amount of adhesive tape in order to obtain a reliable and deformation-resistant structure;
  • to increase stability, bottles can be filled with water or sand;
  • the seat is cut out of plywood, screwed or nailed to bottle caps.

After creating the structure, it is decorated in different ways.

Picnic table

Next we will talk about country furniture, namely a table for breakfast in nature.

How to make such an original table? The principle of working on the product is quite simple. Glue the bottles to any surface, for example, a tray upside down. These will be the legs of the table, and the tray will be the surface.

To decorate the table, the product can be painted with acrylic paints, or various objects, such as old photos or postcards, can be glued to the tabletop. You can also use scraps of fabric for decoration.

If you are planning a large table, then the tabletop should be made of durable materials, for example, plywood, old wood, or a tabletop from an old table would be a good option for the top of a walking table. To give the table strength, you need to use more bottles, and you should also design the tabletop in the shape of a triangle, square, or circle. On the back of the table, make markings with a simple pencil and, using tools, connect the bottles and glue them with lids to the back of the table.

To lengthen and strengthen the table legs, you need to glue the bottles in a certain way. The bottom of the bottles from the first row should be in contact with the bottom of the bottles from the second row. You need special glue for plastic or universal glue.

Decoration

You can decorate finished structures in different ways, but the most popular are:

  • attaching soft elements to ottomans, sofas or stools, for which foam rubber, padding polyester or other padding materials are used;
  • different types of fabrics and even leather can be used for covering, and a ready-made cover can also be purchased;
  • The structure can be covered with photographs, various decorative films or other attractive materials.

Thus, furniture made from plastic bottles are quite interesting and unusual designs. They can be presented in different forms, and are easy to create with your own hands. When properly decorated, they have an attractive appearance. They are considered optimal for use outdoors in a summer cottage.

Plastic chair

The first thing you can consider and understand in the basics of creating furniture is a chair similar to the one in this photo:

Here is the assembly diagram for such a chair. This scheme is universal:

You need to cut the bottle into 2 halves. The top half needs to be inserted into the bottom half. At the next stage, you need to insert the whole bottle there and cover it with the bottom part of another bottle. Thus, you should get several strong modules. Next you need to secure 4 modules with adhesive tape.

In order to make the armrests and back of the chair, you need to extend similar modules to the required length and secure them with tape or adhesive tape.

The chair is ready!
