Quilling and other directions
Simple and voluminous DIY paper crafts are a fascinating process and not only a game, but also the development of children's motor skills, perseverance, attention and comprehensive thinking.
In a number of countries - from Europe to China and Japan - interesting techniques for such products have been developed, entire schools of craftsmen have been created in the general direction - papercrafting (thick paper): quilling and appliqué, origami and kirigami and many other types of paper three-dimensional modeling.
Some practices are hundreds of years old, for example, quilling, or paper rolling (spinning). It was invented by Western European monks in the 14th and 15th centuries by rolling strips of gilded paper cut from the edges of the leaves of ancient books onto a bird's feather, imitating golden miniatures in poor churches. And also used for various decorations.
In Russia, attention was paid to this process only at the end of the 20th century, but even here they succeeded in creating paper beauties, combining them with the national flavor of the republics or simply a certain area.
Newspaper is a great material to work with.
A newspaper is an element that becomes completely useless the very next day after its release, and the endless advertising products in the form of newspapers in our mailboxes are even more depressing with their generosity.

How to make a gift bag
Choosing handmade gift bags with elements of old newspapers will be the decision that will bring out the extraordinary courageous personality in you. After all, it is not easy for our mentality to make a gift in a newspaper, like our grandparents in the pre-perestroika era. This solution not only leads us to a way to recycle things, but, at the same time, fulfills all the necessary transportation requirements usually imposed on packaging - that is, it is still a very good option.
The gift bag can be decorated with a lace napkin - this will make it more festive
Papier-mâché bowl
You can also make a basket or giant bowl to store dry items from daily newspapers.

Fox made from strips of paper
To work, you will need several strips of thick paper or orange cardboard. Thin long strips 0.5-1.0 cm wide are cut out of the material, a blank in the form of a wide tail, ears, and a nose (from black paper).
Eyes can be made from small beads. Follow the instructions below:
Eight strips are glued together to form an 8-pointed star. The ends of the opposite strips are glued together. The result is a ball - the body of a fox.
A ball is also needed for the head, but with a shorter length of paper blanks. The gluing technique also changes - the center of intersection of all workpieces shifts to one side. The figure turns out to be slightly elongated - just right for the head.
Lastly, decorative elements and additional details are glued on: eyes, tail, ears.
Furniture items
This product is made using the quilling principle - wrap rolled sheets of newspaper around a pen or pencil using glue, and then paint them in your preferred color. The building material for the decorative vase is ready.
The most convenient way to fold sheets of paper is to wrap them around a pencil.
Rolling sheets of newspaper into ropes is the best way to use newspaper for DIY crafts. With these tubes you can design a modern flower vase by gluing strips horizontally or vertically, and also create more complex shapes like a mirror frame, photo or wall plates, etc.

To interest children, you first need to teach children to make voluminous paper crafts with their own hands, which are not very difficult. From something as simple as a Russian stove, or, for example, paper boats.

Then a stick is inserted into the top box. A multi-colored paper sail is installed on it. You can also attach a flag on top. The voluminous boat is ready to sail.

Postcard for March 8
It’s a simple design, but the finished card will smell of love for your mother, grandmother, and sister. Using the template, fold a rectangle of white thick paper, draw the outline of a heart, and as a result you get two of them. Cut along the contour and you get a folding card in the shape of two hearts.
From red or scarlet paper, thinner than two hearts, cut out three hearts at the same time, but of smaller sizes. Don't cut them either. Carefully glue all three on their folds to the inside of the card. The fold of the middle heart should fit onto the fold of the card.
Carefully fold the entire card for the first time and press it down with a book for a few minutes. You can donate. You can put a small flower arrangement on the first cover. When the card opens, three scarlet hearts take on their appearance. Templates for three-dimensional paper crafts can be printed from the Internet.

Roses
This example is suitable for postcards. The option with a simple rose will pleasantly surprise you. This type of technology is interesting to implement and does not require any additional costs. It's done very quickly.
And I even present to you 6 ways to make a variety of roses.
Option 1
To do this you will need:
- colored paper
- PVA glue
- scissors
- pencil
Progress:
We take colored paper and roughly draw spiral lines along it.
We cut out a spiral along a given line in a circle.
Then we twist the rose and glue the ends together.
The rose turned out quite quickly and beautifully. This design will serve as a wonderful rainbow accent on the card.
Option 2
We make paper blanks of different sizes. And then we curl the petals. And we connect everything together with glue.
Option 3
We cut red circles again of different sizes. You can make a wavy edge. Now you just need to crumple each circle, giving it the shape of crumpled petals.
We connect everything one by one with glue, starting with the largest circle, inserting smaller circles inside it.
Glue the green leaves and the rose is ready.
Option 4
Divide the circle into segments and make cuts. Twist each segment on both sides. From an incomplete circle, make smaller petal blanks.
Connect everything. It also turns out to be quite a beautiful and unusual rose. How do you like it?
Option 5
This method is suitable if you want to make a large flower.
You will need a base of thick paper in the shape of a hexagon. Cut out rectangles from pink paper and give them the desired shape. Make a cut at the bottom of each petal so that the petal becomes more voluminous when gluing.
Assemble the bud as shown in the photo. Now all that remains is to connect everything together.
Option 6
Here's another interesting way, but without using a base. Look. The process is very similar to the description of the previous option.
