Placing a TV in the living room

. The large flat screen looks stylish and does not overload the design of the living room, and the TV will fit perfectly into the interior of any apartment.

Location

. Do you remember when you were a child, your parents scolded you for watching cartoons too closely? Fortunately, modern models are designed in such a way that you can place the TV in the living room even close to the sofa. The main thing is that your gaze covers the entire picture at once. It doesn’t matter whether your room has a sofa, ottoman or comfortable armchairs: the TV in the living room design will logically be placed against the wall opposite the seating area.

Cabinet or bracket?

Hang the TV in the living room on a bracket if you want more lightness, or place it on a cabinet - there is no universal rule here. What you really need to take care of are the wires. Even the most stylish interior design can easily be ruined by hanging and protruding cables. A pre-provided cable channel will help to cope with this problem. It will hide all the imperfections, and the wires will not disturb the harmony of the living room interior with the TV.

Height from floor

. The specific height of your TV may vary depending on the height of your sofa or personal preference. At the same time, there is a universal rule: for comfortable viewing, the distance from the floor to the center of the screen should correspond to the eye level of a sitting person and be 100-120 cm.

Diagonal size

. Choose appliances depending on your budget and room size. But if in your design the TV will be the defining element on the living room wall, then its diagonal should be at least 50″. Otherwise, you will be left with the feeling of an empty, bare wall.

Film projector as an alternative

. The projector will be an excellent alternative to a TV in the design of the living room if the walls of your room are white or light beige without visible relief. In other cases, you cannot do without a special screen. Budget options will have to be opened manually every time you want to watch a movie. More expensive screens operate from a control panel. The projector itself is mounted on the opposite wall and can be removable or permanent. Finally, when choosing this alternative, you will have to take care of the curtains. If you are going to organize movie shows not only in the dark, you cannot do without thick blackout curtains. Without them, the picture on the screen will be dull and faded. Be sure to hide the wires from the projector in cable channels!

in the design of a living room with TV

When thinking about the design of a living room with a TV, make a schematic sketch

. This will save you from unexpected inconsistencies and help you assess the situation from the outside. Show the layout, location of windows, doors and future furniture on the diagram, maintaining the scale.

Draw an imaginary line from window to door

. This is a place where there are drafts, which means that placing a sofa here is not safe for health.

The location of the sofa in the living room

. Determine the main function of your sofa. Are you going to watch TV in the living room every night? Maybe guests will often spend the night on the sofa? Depending on the role, its place in the interior may change. Take a look at some layout ideas:

1. The ideal location in which the furniture performs its function to the maximum: a sofa in the living room opposite the TV or diagonally from the door. Encourages you to sit down and relax.

2. A good solution for those whose guests like to stay until the morning is a sofa near the door. It is hidden behind a wall, with a view of the TV from the door. With this arrangement, the living room of your two- or three-room apartment retains a feeling of comfort.

3. If the sofa is corner, then the best place for it is at the end of the room farthest from the entrance. Thus, visually it will fit into the natural boundaries of the room, will not overload the interior of the living room with a TV, and you will maintain a feeling of spaciousness.

How to hang a TV on the wall: choosing the optimal distance, rules and recommendations for placement

In addition to height, it is also important to choose the right distance to the screen, because this will determine not only the load on the organs of vision, but also the amount of time that can be spent near the screen without causing eye fatigue. Ophthalmologists note that the optimal distance to the screen is equal to the sum of three or four display diagonals. You should not plan to install the TV close to other furniture, so as not to disturb the geometry of the picture, because your eyes will get tired faster, and the image may blur. Recommendations for placing the screen relative to the diagonal look like this:

  • It is recommended to hang a 32-inch TV at a distance of 2.5 meters from the eyes;
  • 40” – no closer than three meters;
  • a home theater with a screen larger than 55 inches should be placed no closer than four meters away.

In addition to height, it is very important to choose the right distance to the TV, because eye strain will depend on this

Other rules to consider before mounting the TV on the wall:

  1. The device cannot be installed in a confined space, because if there is insufficient ventilation, it will constantly overheat, which will lead to its rapid failure.
  2. The screen should not be placed near heating objects, which include cooking surfaces, artificial and real fireplaces, and heaters.
  3. Before hanging the TV on the wall, you should make sure that it is quite strong and the fastenings are chosen correctly.

It is not recommended to place screens near or opposite a window opening, since daylighting contributes to the appearance of glare on the screen, which will interfere with comfortable viewing. If it is not possible to choose an alternative location, it is recommended to place thick curtains or light-proof roller shutters on the windows, which are lowered when necessary.

When installing a TV in the bedroom, you must take into account that in this room viewing occurs not while sitting on the sofa, but lying on the bed

Helpful advice! The screen size must be selected depending on the area of the room. There is no need to try to buy a TV of the maximum size, because looking at a large screen for a long time in a small room will not work, as your eyes will get tired.

Correct opening of the door in the living room

In or out?

Opening the door in the living room

. You can “hide” the door using the right color: if the color of the door and the walls match, then the exit will become part of the single space of the living room with the TV and will not attract attention. Choose a model without platbands; they will not create unnecessary relief along the edges and will help complete the main task.

When installing a door, make sure that it opens easily and does not interfere with free access to and from the living room. If the door intersects with furniture when opening and there is no way to avoid this, consider alternative options. Today on the market there are models of sliding compartment doors and folding “book” doors. They are especially good when you have to save useful space.

See what options designers offer:

1. Not the worst design option. When opening the door, you can hit the cabinet doors, but the saving of space in the apartment is obvious: the door opens inward, and not into the corridor, where there is not too much space anyway.

2. Bad choice: when the door swings open, it blocks the free space. It is better to change direction or choose one of the alternatives described above.

3. Another unsuccessful design option, but now the door “eats up” space not in the living room itself, but in the corridor. If the renovation or layout does not allow for a change in direction, it would be better to install a folding accordion door or sliding doors.

4. Good location. The door opens without interfering with entry and exit, and does not take up much space either in the hallway or in the living room.

Wall design in the TV room

Original solutions for the TV area in the living room.

Stone

Using natural or artificial stone, you can create an unobtrusive accent on the wall with a TV and give the interior of the room status and texture.

Wallpaper

They are a fairly familiar, uncomplicated and budget-friendly decoration option. For the TV area, it is advisable to choose canvases in not too bright colors and without colorful patterns, so that they do not distract from what is happening on the screen.

Brick wall

Thanks to such an industrial detail as brickwork, it is possible to fill the furnishings of the hall with a special charm and at the same time give the interior character, solidity and form a colorful and rich accent.

Laminate

A TV area decorated with laminate, due to its stylish texture, will visually make the design of the room more expensive and respectable.

Gypsum wall panels

Gypsum 3D panels are a modern design solution that allows you to decorate and highlight the area with a TV using a voluminous texture or a contrasting shade.

Furniture in the living room

Furniture in the living room

. On the one hand, the chair matches the style of the restrained classic design of the living room. On the other hand, the bright blue color creates the necessary accent, and the interior no longer seems boring.

  • Armchair.
A design studio often suggests making an armchair the main accent of the living room interior. Play with colors and styles. For example, a baroque armchair in a minimalist living room will definitely attract attention. Don't like radical solutions? Choose an armchair in the same style, but in a contrasting shade, for your two-room apartment. The size and model should meet your ideas about comfort. You can climb into a wide, soft chair with your feet covered with a blanket. The recliner model with a reclining backrest is convenient not only to relax, but also to take a nap. A more formal design with a high back and armrests is suitable if you don’t plan to sit in a chair for a long time watching TV in the living room.
  • TV stand.
In the past, a living room and a TV always meant a cabinet. Now wide, massive TV cabinets have sunk into oblivion along with convex TVs, tape recorders and cassettes that took up a lot of space. A light narrow shelf or a combined cabinet-rack is a suitable solution for a modern two-room apartment.
  • Coffee table.
A coffee table of original design will not only create coziness and decorate the living room. It can also easily become an art object, you just have to find a suitable option. Connoisseurs of saving space will love the transforming table. It easily turns into a high and wide table for entertaining guests.
  • Side tables.
The solution for the interior of a small living room with a TV is a side table. It takes up less space than a regular one, easily moves from sofa to armchair, and at the same time successfully copes with its function. A couple of books, a cup of coffee or a candy bowl will fit on it.
  • Rack.
A useful find, no matter what apartment interior you choose. The rack is your personal exhibition. Books, small useful items, souvenirs, figurines, just cute things: fill it with things that make you feel positive. At the same time, it is important to observe the measure and not clutter the shelves. If the layout of the room requires zoning, the rack will do the job perfectly. Unlike dense screens and additional walls, it allows light to pass through and does not weigh down the space.
  • Additional storage cabinet.
The wide room has enough space not only for organizing relaxation. Place the sofa closer to the center of the living room with the TV, and use the freed up space for a closet. In Moscow, apartments are often rented with construction defects. Turn them to your advantage: niches and partitions can also be used to store things.
  • Fireplace.
We are, of course, talking about electric fireplaces. Modern models can perform many functions at once. First of all, the fireplace is beautiful. Secondly, in the cold season it replaces heaters. Thirdly, some models can also work as humidifiers, which is especially important in winter, when batteries dry out the air. If you decide that you need a fireplace, you will have to choose from three main styles: antique, classic and modern. The size of the fireplace also matters, it depends on the size of the room and the height of the ceilings. The designer's advice will help you choose the appropriate option and not spoil the overall style of the living room.

Brackets for mounting a TV on the wall: types, advantages and disadvantages

You can hang a Samsung TV on the wall, like another plasma model, using a special bracket used as a mount. Depending on the type and method of fixation, the following types of brackets are distinguished:

  • fixed;
  • inclined;
  • retractable;
  • ceiling;
  • tilt-rotary.

The ability to adjust the position of the bracket is what distinguishes TV mounts from each other

The main thing that distinguishes different types of fastenings is the ability to adjust the position of the structure on the wall. A fixed bracket is one of the simplest options, which allows you to hold the TV only in a vertical plane. The negative aspects of using this type of mount include the inability to adjust the position of the screen due to the lack of moving elements. However, from this negative point comes the main advantage - high reliability of fastening. Another advantage is the low cost of the product.

Types of brackets and their characteristics. How to choose and mount it on the wall.

Characteristics and description of other types of brackets:

  1. Inclined. By hanging the TV on the wall (on a bracket of this type), you can change the angle of the screen, which is especially important in the case of a high placement. You can also slightly change the distance to the device by tilting it. The disadvantage of using it is the lack of horizontal adjustment.
  2. Tilt-rotary. When installing this type of mount, it will be possible to adjust the position of the LCD monitor in both horizontal and vertical planes. It is especially convenient to use such brackets in a large room. Users note the large bulkiness of the design and the rather high cost of the product.
  3. Retractable. It is a multifunctional type of fastener, because with its help you can not only change the tilt of the screen horizontally or vertically, but also change the position of the monitor relative to the wall surface. The structure is quite large and is not recommended for installation in a small area.
  4. Ceiling. An ideal solution for a room with high ceilings or for a kitchen. Using the ceiling type of bracket, you can change the position of the screen by 360˚, and the vertical tilt angle changes up to 90˚. In most cases, these brackets are used in spacious studio kitchens combined with a living room, as well as in public places - cafes or bars.

A fixed bracket is the simplest option; it allows you to mount the TV only in a vertical position

How to choose a mount and how to hang a TV without a bracket on the wall

The choice of bracket is an important task on which the reliability of the future structure will depend. Therefore, before you buy a TV stand on the wall, you need to inquire about the availability of a warranty card, and also study the features and characteristics of the product. It is very important here that the bracket is designed to support the weight of the TV with a margin; it is good when the tensile strength is 5-10 kg greater than the weight of the screen itself with the mount. The main points to pay attention to when purchasing a bracket:

  1. Equipment. It is important to check that you have all the tools necessary for installation, so as not to discover their absence during the installation process.
  2. Mounting type. To mount a widescreen screen, it is recommended to choose a swivel bracket, which is more expensive, but greatly simplifies adjustment.
  3. Additional elements. Some types of brackets come with a box that is used to decorate cables and wires, which will help preserve the appearance of the interior. It is also advisable to buy options with additional shelves and holders for accessories.
  4. Material and workmanship. The product should not have chips, cracks or voids, and it is also required that it be made of high-quality metal that can withstand heavy loads.
  5. Presence of remote control. Some models of brackets are equipped with a remote control that allows you to adjust the position of the device. Without getting up from the sofa, you can adjust the tilt angle and change the rotation of the screen, which is especially important when installing the TV opposite a window.

You can hang the TV on the wall without a bracket thanks to special devices on the back of the case

Helpful advice! The optimal TV angle is considered to be in the range from –15 to +15 degrees.

In addition to using a bracket, many flat screen TVs over 42 inches are designed to be installed without the use of special mounts. Manufacturers have provided in advance the possibility of installing the device without the use of additional parts.

To hang the screen, there are special ears on the back of the case that resemble grooves. They are used to attach plasma to fasteners screwed into the wall. In this case, the process of installing a TV is no different from fixing a picture or framed photograph on the wall. Here it is important to choose the right fasteners that can support the weight of the TV, as well as to first evaluate the capabilities of the wall. And also, if there are special grooves, you can try installing the TV on a bracket made at home.

When choosing a bracket, you need to pay attention to the fact that the mount is designed to support the weight of the TV with a margin

Kitchen + living room

If you have a tiny kitchen and a small living room, try combining them. This way you will get a spacious and bright kitchen-living room. This option is not suitable for everyone, but lately it has become more and more fans.

Kitchen-living room design

. When placing accents in the interior of a modern kitchen-living room, do not be modest, choose several color shades at once.

As a result of combining the rooms, we will get a space with two windows, which means there will be more light and air. There will also be a dining area. To choose the right dining table for her, count on at least 70 cm per person. When there is not enough space for a full table, options with a folding transforming table or a bar counter will come to the rescue. By the way, the latter can visually separate the kitchen and living room areas.

Ideas for the kitchen-living room

Types of brackets

In order to choose the right bracket for a Samsung, LG or any other TV, you should study the characteristics of the device. It is important to know its diagonal, weight and VESA standard. This is the generally accepted distance between mounting holes, pre-provided by the manufacturer. It varies from 10*10 to 40*40 cm. Based on this, the bracket is selected. They differ in the material they are made of, the number of elbows (or lack thereof), and the rotary/inclinable/fixed platform designed for different diagonals.

Important! Most brackets can withstand weights of up to 25 kg, and it is extremely difficult to find a modern TV with a weight greater than this value. However, it would not be superfluous to make sure that the weight of the device is still acceptable.

Let's take a closer look at the design of the brackets.

  1. Fixed. Allows you to securely secure the device, but without the ability to rotate or tilt it. This TV mount has a minimum of holes and is easy to install.

  2. Slanted. Often used when mounting a television receiver high above eye level. To ensure comfortable TV viewing, the mount allows you to tilt the panel at the desired angle.

  3. Tilt-rotary. This mount is very convenient if you plan to mount the TV on a wall near the ceiling. Thanks to the rotating mechanism, watching TV is possible from anywhere in the room.

Bedroom + living room

The option of combining a living room with a bedroom is less common. This solution will not suit everyone. Still, you want privacy in the bedroom, and the living room is a room where guests often visit. It is better for young owners of small apartments to take a closer look at this redevelopment option. Families with two- and three-room apartments should avoid this option. Do you want to zone the space without losing lighting and functionality? Use a rack. It will not only divide the room, but also help place books and souvenirs.

Bedroom design with living room

. See how you can successfully combine a bedroom and a living room in a one-room apartment. The rack is used for zoning the room.

Living room + office

Unless you are the happy owner of a spacious three-room apartment, then most likely you will not be able to allocate a separate room for an office. Most often, a desktop is placed in the living room or bedroom. When choosing a table and its location, be guided by how often you will need it for work. Remember that a desktop computer requires a more spacious workspace than a laptop (on average 60-70 cm deep), and also take care of sockets and cable channels in advance during repairs.

Living room design

. An example of a project with a bright accent on a chair. A small desk and shelves match the color of the wall and do not attract attention to themselves.

Take a look at several options for placing a desk in your living room.

1. If you don’t use your desk for work very often, then it’s best to make it invisible through color scheme or zoning. For example, you can choose a tabletop that matches the color of the walls, hide your workplace behind a screen, or disguise it with a shelving unit.

2. If a freelancer needs a large desk for a desktop computer, an extended window sill would be an ideal option. A tabletop the width of the room visually pushes the walls apart. This excellent solution will adjust the proportions of the living room in the shape of an elongated rectangle.

3. For creative people and schoolchildren, a desk built into a closet is suitable. The folding door also serves as a tabletop. Firstly, it is a way to quickly hide creative clutter from prying eyes, maintaining the illusion of cleanliness. Secondly, it also saves space.

Desk in the interior

And more about brackets

So, the final answer to the original question: how to hang a TV on the wall, step by step comes down to the following:

  • Choosing a place to mount the TV; primarily based on the mechanical characteristics of the load-bearing surface.
  • Based on them, the weight and dimensions of the TV, we determine how to attach it to the wall.
  • We choose a bracket or holder that suits all existing conditions, make it or purchase it ready-made.

The first 2 points are entirely in your hands. The main criteria for choosing a bracket are set out in the text of the article. Just in case, in conclusion, we’ll give you another video on how to choose the right bracket for your TV:

Air conditioner

in the living room with TV

How to position the air conditioner so that it fits well into the interior of the living room? First of all, it is important to place it correctly. You cannot hang the air conditioner above a sofa or chair where people often sit. Simply moving it to the far end of the room won’t work either: you’ll have to trench the wall from the window to the mounting point, and this is quite expensive.

Air conditioner indoor unit

difficult to fit into the interior. A white air conditioner hung on a white wall attracts the least attention.

Most often, a design project involves one of the following options for the location of the air conditioner:

1. Air conditioning above the front door. Excellent location, although it requires cutting for communications.

2. The indoor unit is not far from the window. Unlike the first option, you will have to cut less, which means this option is more economical. The disadvantage is that cooled air blows onto the chair.

3. The air conditioner is located in the most active area of the room. With this TV living room design, cold air hits people directly.

The main advantages and disadvantages of installing a TV on the wall

Before you mount the TV on the wall, you need to understand that this arrangement has not only advantages, but also some disadvantages. This depends not so much on the size of the device, but on the area of the room in which installation is planned, as well as on the presence of small children and animals in the apartment. Mounting a TV into a wall has the following advantages:

Mounting the TV on the wall is considered very convenient, since it does not require a stand.

  1. Comfortable use. This placement option is considered convenient, because you can install the TV on the wall at any height, without the need for an additional stand.
  2. Saving space and money. There is no need to buy a cabinet, cabinets or an entire wall, firstly, it will free up more space in the room, and secondly, it will save the family budget on the purchase of additional furniture. The price of the bracket is significantly lower than the cost of cabinets.
  3. Safe to use. To ensure this condition, you need to approach the installation wisely and plan the location of the equipment in advance, because you need to hang the plasma on the wall in such a way that there are no hanging wires that a child could pull and accidentally throw off the screen. To do this, you need to think in advance about the placement of the socket and other necessary outlets behind the surface of the screen.
  4. Is a decoration of the room. Widescreen plasma TV is considered an integral part of modern interiors in high-tech or fusion style.

Placing the TV on the wall allows you to save space and money on buying a cabinet, cabinets or wall

Important! Before hanging the TV on drywall, you need to be sure that the entire structure, including the bracket, will not exceed a weight of 15 kg.

The main disadvantages of placing a TV on the wall include the fact that you should think about the location of the sockets in advance. If you do not immediately foresee the location of the device, you will have to either move the outlet or use a long wire, which will then need to be hidden so as not to spoil the appearance of the room. Another negative point is the need to install a small shelf if you need to install a Wi-Fi receiver, game console, or connect a laptop to watch a movie near the TV.

The main negative point is the inability to transfer the device. After hanging an LCD TV on the wall, holes from the fasteners will remain on the surface, which will not be easy to hide after moving the TV. In this place you will have to hang some decorative elements or carry out cosmetic repairs.

The disadvantage of mounting a TV on a wall is the inability to move the device

Sockets

in living room design

When you calculate the number and location of outlets, the interior design should already be thought out. At least the position of furniture, appliances and stationary lamps (floor lamps and table lamps). The average number of outlets for a living room with a TV is about 15. Decide where the set-top box, game console, and sound system will be located. It is convenient to hide the sockets behind the TV screen or TV stand. If the design project involves the presence of a fireplace, you can also place 2-3 sockets behind it. Don't forget about the Christmas tree. The intended installation location should have enough sockets for electric lights.

Lighting

in the living room

Light decides! It is its brightness and shade that changes our feeling of the room: whether it is cozy, spacious or dark and uninviting. Consider several options for lighting a living room with a TV for different situations: a quiet evening relaxation, receiving guests, watching a movie.

Living room lighting

. The loft style in the interior of this living room is set by a brick wall, and several lamps of different types support it.

Lamps

. When choosing lamps, take into account the style of the interior. When decorating a living room with a TV, it is fashionable to combine lighting fixtures of different sizes and functionality, united by one style. In the living room, it is best to install three types of lighting (spot, local and intimate), which, with a click, will turn a bright, light room for meeting friends into a cozy corner for relaxation.

overhead light

. The main type of lighting, the so-called overhead light, is represented by spotlights (also called work lights) and a chandelier. A spectacular chandelier can perform not only its main function, but also be an important part of the design, setting the accent of the interior of your living room with a TV.

Table lamps, floor lamps and sconces are the so-called local light

. However, it should be noted that sconces rarely fit into modern design. Try replacing them with a pair of stylish lamps.

Intimate light

. Elements of dim light not only illuminate the room, but rather create an atmosphere of romance and comfort. If guests stay overnight, then interior garlands with their warm, even light can serve as night lights.

Candles

. Large, single-color candles look most interesting in interior design. Moreover, they can be of different diameters and heights. White color and matte finish are the perfect combo for most living rooms.

Zoning

. United rooms are divided into zones not only by shelving and screens. Light often comes to the aid of designers. In the kitchen-living room, be sure to hang several lamps above the table. This rule works for both the bar counter and the classic dining table. For the working kitchen area, also choose task lighting. Use standard lighting techniques in the living area: a combination of overhead lighting and local lighting in the form of floor lamps and lamps.

Modern style in the living room

The modern design style of a living room with a TV is universal, combining minimalism and versatility. It is suitable for both spacious and small spaces.

Modern living room design

. Clarity of lines and the presence of strict patterns are the hallmarks of modern style.

Signs of style

. Modern style is easy to recognize by its characteristic colors. It is almost always presented in monochrome shades (black, gray, white) combined with bright accents. If you do without them, the interior of the living room with TV will become faceless and boring. In addition to color accents, designers use large, bright posters and paintings in the same style. There shouldn't be a lot of decor. As already mentioned, modern style is characterized by minimalism. Furniture must meet two parameters: convenience and simplicity.

Location of the TV in the living room

Thanks to the most practical and convenient placement option, it turns out not only to save space in the room, but also to add greater comfort to the interior of the room.

On the wall

Let's consider the most convenient wall mounting options.

This corner placement allows you to fill the shortage of free space, which is especially suitable for small rooms. This design solution optimizes a small room and creates an interesting stylistic move in it.

The photo shows a small TV in the corner of the living room interior with a bay window.

Using a niche with a TV model, you can effectively fill the space on an empty wall and thereby dilute the standard and boring design of the room.

The wall between the windows can be compactly decorated with an oversized TV device, placing it on a small chest of drawers or on the wall itself.

Under the stairs

This solution provides the highest level of space optimization and is simply a very good design idea. A small cinema room with a TV and a sound system with speakers makes useful use of the space under the stairs and the space next to it.

The photo shows a TV with a sound system located under the stairs in the spacious living room.

In the center of the room

The TV panel forms the entire environment around itself, so placing it in the middle of the room will undoubtedly be a win-win option that will become a focal point and attract attention.

On the partition

An interior partition with a TV device not only harmoniously divides the space of the hall, but also has high functional and convenient qualities, allowing you to save more usable space.

The photo shows a TV on a low partition in the interior of a modern living room.

On the pipe

With the help of such a non-trivial and slightly daring solution, it is possible to create an expressive and original design that will organically fit into almost any interior of the room.

On the ceiling

Ceiling mounting not only saves living space and eliminates the need to select a special cabinet, chest of drawers, stand or other furniture, but also provides an excellent opportunity to achieve an aesthetic effect in the room.

Elegant plasma TVs under the ceiling look very unusual and can be freely turned in the most convenient direction.

Built in furniture

A rectangular television screen fits harmoniously into the geometry of the furniture composition of a rack, pencil case, cabinet or modular wall and goes well with a variety of decorative elements.

Neoclassical style in the living room

Many people turn to an interior designer and ask to decorate a room in a neoclassical style. This is a kind of modern take on the classic design of an apartment. It is distinguished by a large number of decorative elements. Examples include moldings on walls and ceilings, carved lamps, and “carriage tie” on upholstered furniture. The colors in the neoclassical style are pastel, soft.

. Pillows of different sizes are a type of decor that is appropriate in both modern and classic living rooms.

Signs of style

. The neoclassical style, like the classical one, combines regular symmetrical lines and decorative elements. Moreover, there can be many accessories: these are ceiling and wall moldings, draperies, stucco molding, carved elements in furniture. Windows are usually darkened by heavy curtains and drapes.

Accommodation Tips

It is recommended to hang the TV on brackets so that the distance from the floor to the bottom edge is from 0.7 m to 1.2 m. Let your gaze fall on the middle of the screen, preferably one third from the bottom edge of the device.

IMPORTANT! Installing a DIY TV bracket may require the involvement of several people. Contact a specialist for guaranteed safe mounting of the TV on the wall. If you want to mount the TV on the wall yourself, use the help of a partner.

Colors

Beige color in the design of a living room with a TV

Bright living rooms with loud accent colors, original design projects using various shades and a dark leading color are by no means uncommon when developing apartment design. There is no rule according to which a living room with a TV must be bright, although for a number of reasons light colors predominate in modern designs. In this article we will focus on these options as the most common.

Beige visually expands the space

. Today apartments are most often small. If this is your situation, follow the designer's advice: beige can fix the problem.

Compatibility

. The compatibility of beige color with almost any other color makes it universal. It gives you freedom in choosing furniture and decorative elements: no matter what shade you use in the interior of the apartment, beige will be combined with each of them.

Create an atmosphere of warmth and comfort

. Beige shades do not irritate the eyes and you don’t get tired of them. This design does not become boring, and it can be diluted with bright decorative elements.

. Warm shades of beige are more common in classic interiors. Interior designers in a modern style prefer cooler tones.

. Looking for a neutral color for your modern living room? Choose grey!

Carelessly using colors in your TV living room design can be a serious mistake. Deep dark colors absorb light. They can make an already small room very small and gloomy. An abundance of white will bring medical sterility. When choosing a harmonious neutral color, it is better to choose gray. It goes well with many bright and delicate shades, does not irritate or tire the eyes.

If there is no bracket

Sometimes there is no desire (opportunity) to purchase a holder. Is it possible to do without it? Of course you can. Deciding how to hang a TV without a bracket on the wall depends on your skills and available materials. One of the most popular options is the use of a metal profile. The process of making such a pseudo-bracket with your own hands is discussed in detail in the video:

We will list only the main stages of work:

  • Pieces of the required length are cut from a square pipe (channel, angle). The calculation is simple - add 3...5 cm on each side to the distance between the holes located above each other in the TV panel. The counter part (which is attached to the wall, is made in the same way, but it is better to move the holes and, accordingly, make the strips longer or shorter;

  • fix the parts on the TV and the wall;

  • connect the fragments, thereby fixing the TV on the wall.

Here, a spoke from a bicycle wheel is used as a connecting part, but it would be more reliable to install a pin or rod with a diameter of 5...10 mm, especially for heavy equipment.

An alternative is a simple holder with or without a hinge for rotation, onto which a board or piece of thick plywood is screwed. Holes are made in this board at the location of the mounting holes in the TV.

The simplest loop is used; a metal strip is used as the main part of the holder.

Another option is using corners.

Two pairs are mounted in the mounting holes of the TV, one pair is mounted on the wall. Next, the bolts are inserted into the corners fixed to the wall with the rod up and secured with nuts (so that they do not fall out). The corners screwed to the TV are placed on these rods.

You can use special sliding supports for rafters.

One part is attached to the equipment (hinges), the second (bracket holders) – to the wall. One is inserted into the other - and voila! If the holders are screwed onto a beam previously fixed on the wall, you can organize the desired slope.

Unfortunately, this option is not suitable for all TV models; you need to measure the distance between the mounting holes in advance and check whether these hinges will fit them.

And here is a diagram of another working option. Ready-made products are not used here; the parts must be made independently. However, if you have a tool and growing hands from where it should be, this is not difficult.

Of course, these are not all possible methods - the inquisitive mind of folk craftsmen does not sleep.
