From January 1, 2020, a ban on connecting hoods to ventilation was introduced

Oven type

Before purchasing, you should choose which oven will be installed: gas or electric.

Most new buildings do not provide for gas supply. In this case, there is no choice - you need to install an electrical device. But if blue fuel is connected, is it worth buying a gas unit? Don't rush to answer this question in the affirmative. First you need to understand the features of each type of stove.

Operating a gas oven will cost less because gas costs less than electricity. This is where the advantages, perhaps, end.

But the list of shortcomings is wide:

  1. When installing, you will have to take into account the location of the gas pipe. Moving it to the right place is not always possible.
  2. Limited functionality.
  3. The choice of ovens on the market is much more modest than electric ones.
  4. Despite modern safety systems, increased risks when using gas equipment are still present.

Electric ovens:

  1. Can be equipped with a large number of additional functions.
  2. For installation, it is enough that there is a socket nearby.
  3. Safer as there is no open flame
  4. There is a wide range of devices on sale to suit every taste and budget.

The only downside that needs to be noted is the increase in electricity consumption, and as a result, large bills for resources.

Types of built-in hoods

Typically, a hood built into a flow-type cabinet is used to remove air outside the room. This option provides the greatest safety, efficiency and is used for both kitchen and specialized technological cabinets.

Installation of flow-through models requires the laying of air ducts. In the kitchen, the connection is made to special exhaust shafts for hoods, common in modern buildings. In old houses, the connection is made to a hole in the outer wall with the installation of a non-return valve.

The only kitchen exhaust hole must not be blocked by connecting the hood.

Recirculating built-in hoods

In addition to flow-through models, kitchen hoods can be of the recirculation type. The air sucked into them undergoes two-stage cleaning and returns to the kitchen.

Typically, kitchen exhaust hoods use a washing-type grease and dust-retaining metal filter. For recirculation modifications, a second stage of odor removal with a carbon filter is also used.

The resource of such a filter is limited; it needs periodic replacement every 120...150 days. The main advantage of such models is lightweight installation including:

  • installation of the product inside the cabinet;
  • supply to the electricity model.

The recirculation process does not require the installation of air ducts. However, the level of cleaning for flow-through devices is higher. And the main disadvantage of recirculation is the inability to eliminate extremely dangerous carbon monoxide.

For gas stoves, it is necessary to install flow-type models that ensure the removal of carbon dioxide.

Oven hood

People often wonder whether an oven hood is needed, and the answer is definitely yes.

The oven is a source of intense odors, soot, moisture, and grease. Moreover, they are released periodically at the moment of its opening, and neutralization requires a high-performance model.

Recirculating devices are also suitable for electric ovens. For gas ovens, the priority choice is built-in flow-through models.

Power and energy efficiency

In order not to spend your entire salary on paying for electricity, even at the selection stage, pay attention to the power of the cabinet and its energy efficiency.

Power primarily affects the speed and strength of heating of the device. This figure does not exceed 2 - 4 kW. To heat up to 500 ℃, a power of at least 3.5 kW will be required. But it is worth considering that this temperature is needed only for pyrolytic cleaning. For domestic use, the average family will have enough power of 2 - 3 kW.

Tip: Before installing the electric oven, make sure that the wiring can withstand the load. If the electrics in the house are old, you should first replace them.

Energy efficiency is designated by letters from A to G. Class A devices consume the least resources and are more economical, and products marked G are the most power-hungry. There are units of class A+, A++ and A+++. They are even more beneficial in terms of utility costs.

How to choose a hood? And is it needed at all?

Modern consumers continue to wonder about the latter question, which is not surprising, given how many myths there are about this matter. Although here we can give a completely unambiguous answer: if the apartment has significant difficulties with the natural ventilation of the kitchen, then it’s definitely worth thinking about buying a hood. The exhaust system solves several pressing problems for the owner at once. And we’re not just talking about impeccable air purification in the area of the kitchen stove. In practice, it has been proven that a built-in hood successfully combats the settling of dust and grease on the surfaces of walls and floors. This means that there is no need to regularly replace the finish.

A built-in hood guards a favorable microclimate in the kitchen, and therefore is an indispensable technical element in any home. It is recommended to select a device based on the type of design. Suspended, telescopic and dome models are considered classics. They have standard technical characteristics, so they are suitable for most buyers. Hoods can be built not only into a special kitchen cabinet, but also into the ceiling, wall and even table.

If we talk about wall-mounted appliances, then the size of its suction surface should correspond to the area of evaporation from the hob. Otherwise, there will be no effect from the exhaust installation.

Dimensions and capacity

Ovens come in different sizes, so finding the unit that suits your kitchen won’t be difficult. But you need to take into account that the smaller the dimensions, the smaller the capacity, which means the smaller volume of food can be prepared.

By size, devices are usually classified into:

Full-size - suitable for rooms where there are no problems with space, or if you need a large volume of the working chamber: 55 - 75 liters. Width varies between 60 – 90 cm, depth – 55 – 60 cm, height – 60 cm.

Narrow - will fit perfectly into a small kitchen, while maintaining decent chamber dimensions: 37 - 45 liters. Their dimensions are standard, with the exception of the width: it is 45 – 60 cm.

Compact - suitable for singles and those who rarely use the oven or if there is not enough space even for a narrow oven. Such a device can be built-in or desktop. Their volume does not exceed 45 - 50 liters, and their dimensions are approximately: height - 45 cm, width - 60 cm, depth - 55 cm.

Enlarged – suitable for spacious kitchens when preparing large portions. Their capacity is about 110 liters, and some have two chambers: a larger one and a smaller one.

The width of such devices reaches 90 cm.

Guide to installing a built-in hood in a cabinet

If you have already dealt with tools such as a jigsaw, a hammer drill and others, then installing a hood in a kitchen cabinet will not be difficult for you. Kitchen sets for small spaces include a wall cabinet designed specifically for the built-in hood. We carry out installation in several stages.

Attention. Built-in modules are produced for 45, 50, 60 and 70 cm distances between the side walls of the wall cabinet. Using this data, you can always choose the right model of cleaning device.

  1. First of all, we purchase an exhaust device, which in size (width and depth) should fit tightly into the cabinet opening.
  2. When installing a kitchen wall, place the hood directly above the stove.
  3. We remove the cabinet from the wall and turn it upside down. Remove the door and middle shelf.
  4. We place the hood on the bottom and trace the perimeter of the device with a pencil.
  5. In the middle of the marking outline, drill a hole of such a size that you can insert a jigsaw file into it.
  6. We drank from the hole, smoothly entering the marking line. We take out the core.
  7. We place the hood with the ventilation hole on the shelf, ensuring that the external contours of both objects match.
  8. We trace the nozzle on the shelf with a pencil.
  9. Cut out the mounting hole with a jigsaw.
  10. We do the same with the top plane of the cabinet.
  11. We insert the equipment inside the cabinet. We fasten it with screws to the exhaust opening.
  12. We put a shelf on the nozzle and secure it to the side walls of the box.
  13. We return the cabinet with the hood to its original place.
  14. We thread the corrugation through the shelves and put its end on the nozzle. We secure the air duct with a clamp. We insert the upper end of the air duct into the ventilation duct. Also available with polymer and metal pipes.
  15. We fill all joints with sealant.
  16. We correctly connect power to the equipment in the same way as described in the previous chapter.

Expert opinion

Furniture assembler at Mabaks

Advice: if the outlets of the hood and ventilation duct have a round or rectangular cross-section, and the air duct is the opposite, then there are adapters for this. Therefore, stock up on these products in advance.

Type of execution

Dependent cabinets are supplied with the hob. They share a control panel with the burners and are installed together. As a rule, the hob is mounted above the oven. Such devices are cheaper, but if one of the parts breaks, the entire structure must be replaced.

Independent ovens are completely self-contained. They are in no way connected to the burners and can be installed at any distance from them. This is very convenient if you plan, for example, to install a two-burner stove, but need a full-size oven. Finding such a dependent device is very difficult.

Two independent appliances will cost more if you add up the cost of the hob and oven. But you can choose products from different companies if suddenly something doesn’t suit you.

Multicooker

Today, probably, few people have not heard of such a device. It can replace not only the oven, but also other kitchen utensils.

The multicooker easily copes with recipes of any complexity. Not only is it suitable instead of an oven, it is easy to prepare soup and porridge in it. We can say that the multicooker combines all the functions of the above-mentioned devices.

If you need to find something to replace the oven with, use the options presented. Each of them has its own characteristics and copes well with its purpose. They can be used not only for baking, baking, but also for preparing other dishes.

Control system

The mechanical system is represented by the usual rotary switches. There are usually two of them: to regulate temperature and time. The design is highly reliable: there is nothing special to break. But cleaning round levers is not very convenient, since grease accumulates in the gap between the switch and the panel, and it is not easy to wash it out.

The electronic system can be represented by a push-button or touch panel. They are much more variable in terms of operating parameters settings. Buttons are more difficult to maintain: dirt is more difficult to clean. The sensor is better on this side: wipe the flat surface with a cloth and that’s it.

These models have a display that shows the time and settings. Some of the touch devices provide the ability to view recipes and photos uploaded by the user.

Combined mechanisms, as the name implies, combine the first and second types of control. Typically it looks like this: temperature and time are adjusted using round switches, and additional functions are controlled by buttons or a touch switch. In this case, all settings and mode are displayed on the display.

Today, almost all equipment is equipped with remote access, when work can be controlled from anywhere via a mobile application. This trend has not bypassed ovens: there are still few such units, but, most likely, in the near future this will become one of the most popular options.

Answers to popular questions

Our site receives many questions from readers regarding the manufacture, assembly of furniture and installation of kitchen equipment. We will try to answer some of them exhaustively.

Is it advisable to install a built-in hood in a cabinet without an air duct?

Of course, installing an air duct is an additional, sometimes time-consuming job. You yourself must evaluate the need for a device to divert air flow directly into the ventilation duct. The volume of the room, the frequency of use of the stove, the conditions for the flow of outside air - all these are factors that influence the choice of flow or recirculation mode of operation of the hood.

If it is enough for you to get by with returning the purified air mass flow through the exhaust filtration system, then you do not need an air duct.

How to install a built-in hood with a retractable part?

The installation of cleaning equipment with a retractable part is no different from the installation of stationary equipment. It is necessary to ensure that the deployed suction panel completely overhangs the hob area of the stove.

How to install a built-in hood in a large cabinet?

This is done in exactly the same way as when installing equipment that fits tightly between the walls of the cabinet. The only difference is that you need to maintain the exact position of the hood exactly above the stove. The photographs show examples of additional partitions inside the cabinet that strengthen the structure.

What to do if there is not enough power?

Compact exhaust devices often have the disadvantage of low installation power. To increase the performance of cleaning equipment, duct fans are used. They are embedded into the air duct using adapters in any accessible place.

Installation of the channel mechanism is done with the aim of increasing the power of the air flow. That is, the duct and exhaust fans operate simultaneously (in parallel). You can adjust the operating modes of the hood by installing an additional toggle switch to separately turn on the duct fan.

In some cases, the hood body is used only as part of the air duct. A powerful external fan is installed, which dramatically increases the productivity of the equipment from 800 - 1000 m3/h to 1500 - 2000 m3/h.

How to make sure that the hood does not interfere with natural ventilation?

To solve this problem, use a tee with an anti-return valve. The device looks as if an additional pipe with an open hole was cut into the air duct at the entrance to the ventilation duct.

There is a hatch installed in the pipe, which is adjusted so that when the fan is turned on, it covers the inlet. When the hood is turned off, the locking disc returns to its original state and opens the air from the ventilation.

Functions

The quality and speed of cooking food in the oven depends on the capabilities of heating and convection.

  • Heat

The heating element must be installed from below; there can also be top heating. There are devices with different wall heating systems - all this is done to obtain the best result.

  • Grill

Allows you to get an appetizing fried crust on your favorite dishes. If your choice is a full-size or wide oven, then it is better if the grill is adjustable in area. So, if you are baking a small portion, then just turn on the “Small Grill” function so as not to waste electricity.

  • Convection

The fan built into the rear of the case accelerates the hot air, thus ensuring uniform heating. With this option, you can forget about the situation when, for example, the bottom of the pie is burnt, but the top remains unbaked.

However, some users on the forums note that the fan dries out the food too much and they turn out a little dry. To avoid problems, it is better to choose a stove with an adjustable blowing speed. Then it becomes possible to set the strength of the air flow depending on what dish is being prepared.

Convection in some models is also used to defrost food. In this case, there is no heating, and thawing occurs only due to air movement.

The above functions allow you to create many variations of operating modes for preparing any food. In addition to them, advanced devices are equipped with a number of options:

  1. Timer - by setting the baking time, you don’t have to worry about the dish burning: as soon as the desired period is over, the device will either beep or turn off on its own.
  2. Programs – many recipes are stored in the device’s memory and the cook just needs to select the desired one and indicate the weight of the components. Then the smart equipment will do everything on its own: select the cooking mode and time, lower the temperature if necessary, turn on the grill and turn off the heating, signaling the end.
  3. Steamer – the oven design includes a water container and a steam generator. This function can be combined with any type of heating and significantly expand the possibilities for realizing your culinary fantasies.
  4. Microwave module – built-in magnetron allows you to use the oven as a microwave. It becomes possible to significantly speed up cooking if you simultaneously activate the microwave heating. You can also simply reheat already prepared food.
  5. Maintaining temperature - after finishing work, the unit switches to heat preservation mode, i.e. the food will remain warm for a long time.

Of course, these are just the main functions of modern ovens. Each manufacturer strives to highlight its products, constantly adding new features to them.

Oven

A more familiar device for many, which is combined with a stove - floor or wall. Can run on natural gas or electricity. The wide range of available models often leads to difficulties when purchasing, since it is easy to make mistakes and purchase low-quality products. The main difference from a mini-oven is the much larger volume of the cabinet; on the other hand, its capabilities are very limited.

Advantages

Speaking about the advantages of ovens, it is worth highlighting modern models that differ from their predecessors:

  • there are specimens that run on natural gas or from the mains;
  • use energy sparingly;
  • They are compact in size, but at the same time have good capacity, which allows you to cook several dishes at once;
  • a wide range will make it easy to choose the right product, taking into account the size and interior of the room;
  • improved units are made with triple glass and door opening blocking, which prevents the possibility of injuries and burns;
  • additional options - timer, auto shut-off, alarm notification - make using the device more comfortable and safe.

Healthy! Certain advantages are inherent in specific types of ovens - electric or gas, tabletop or floor-standing. You should choose the appropriate type based on your own preferences and wishes. It should also be taken into account that the cost of different devices will vary greatly.

Flaws

Among the disadvantages of the technology are the following:

  • the need to allocate a separate place for installation in the kitchen interior;
  • You will need special utensils for use - not all materials are suitable;
  • A function such as a grill is found only in expensive units.

Dependent oven

Independent oven

Additional details

These details help in the process of creating culinary masterpieces.

The spit ensures even frying of the bird or piece of meat. Due to constant movement, the crust is smooth, and excess fat is not absorbed into the product, but drips into the pan. However, if you have a powerful convector, the spit becomes not such a necessary part: food on the grill with good airflow turns out the same.

The temperature probe helps you monitor the readiness of food. It sticks into the dish and monitors the temperature change inside the product. As soon as it reaches the set limit, a sound signal sounds or the oven automatically turns off.

A chamber divider is installed so that two different foods can be cooked at the same time. The separator allows you to set your own settings for each compartment and completely isolate the compartments from each other.

Microwave

The operating principle of a microwave oven is different from an oven and a roaster. It affects products with ultra-frequency microwaves, which heat the liquid inside each product. As a result of this, water evaporates.

This method of heat treatment is considered more useful, since more vitamins are retained in each ingredient and the products retain their natural moisture.

If you need to cook baked goods, you can purchase a microwave oven with convection, and models with a grill are suitable for cooking meat. This device comes in different sizes, and most importantly, it does not need to be mounted anywhere; you can put the microwave in any desired place.

Safety and convenience

The following details are responsible for safe and comfortable use of the device:

  1. Gas control - as the name implies, gas furnaces are equipped with it. This mechanism ensures that the fire does not go out. If this happens, the fuel supply is automatically stopped.
  2. Electric ignition is also relevant for gas ovens. Allows you to turn on the heat at the touch of a button, eliminating the need to ignite with matches or a lighter.
  3. Overheat protection – the sensor monitors that the temperature does not exceed the permitted parameters. As soon as it becomes higher than allowed, the automation turns off the heating.
  4. Child lock – includes locking the control panel and door during operation.
  5. The cooling fan is a so-called tangential system. A special fan removes hot air and keeps the outer surface of the cabinet cool. This option is required if the oven is adjacent to the refrigerator. And to protect the headset from thermal influences it will be very useful.
  6. Telescopic guides, unlike the usual grooves, allow you to check readiness without the risk of burning your hands and face, since the baking sheet can easily be rolled forward to its full depth. Inexpensive devices are usually equipped with two fixed telescopic guides. In more expensive models, they can be rearranged to different height levels at the request of the chef.
  7. Lighting – lighting is now available in all devices, even the cheapest ones. Only the lamps used differ: halogen or conventional incandescent light bulbs. The first ones last a long time, but are more expensive. The latter burn out quickly, but are much more affordable.

Here, pay attention to how the lamp is replaced: in some units the mechanism is so complex that to carry out this trivial task you have to contact a service center or call a technician.

Ease of use largely depends on such a detail as the door . Let's take a closer look at its features.

  • Opening method

Usually the door hinges from top to bottom, but there are devices where it is hinged, that is, it opens from the right or left side, like a refrigerator. There is an option when the door opens as usual, but at the same time “moves” under the bottom of the oven.

When choosing, you should focus on the intended location of the device. So, if the stove is located on the lower level of the furniture set, then it is more comfortable to work with a hinged door. And if the cabinet is installed at eye level, then a side or “hidden” door will be more convenient.

  • Glazing

The number of layers of glass on the door varies from 2 to 4. The higher this figure, the less the door heats up, which means it will be safer to use the oven. Although if there are no small children or curious animals in the house, then double-layer glazing will be enough.

Another important point: the glass must be removable in order to wash the inner surface on which splashes and plaque accumulate.

Oven installation

Modern kitchens with appliances built into the furniture delight the eye with beauty and practicality. To install the device, a prepared niche is required.

There are two ways to install the selected oven:

  1. Installation of any oven under the countertop. A built-in plate is mounted on top.
  2. The built-in oven is placed separately from the kitchen hob, located above the table level. This allows you to monitor food preparation and simplifies maintenance, but in this case a cabinet for a niche is required.

In offline installation mode, the niche must have a certain size. Since the sizes of appliances are now standard, you can find models that can be easily integrated into any kitchen set.

Preparatory work

In order for the equipment to serve for a long time and without any surprises, it is necessary to properly prepare the place where it will be placed. First, you need to carefully study the manual and take into account all the features of the installation site. If you use a built-in oven, then you need to choose a cabinet with the required dimensions, taking into account that the heat will be radiated from the appliance, and do not forget about the distance between the appliances and the walls of the kitchen unit.

Now they prepare a niche in which the device will be placed; to do this, pull the cabinet out of its place. In the rear wall, using an electric drill, drill the necessary holes for the cable or gas supply hose. Now you can return the bedside table to its place and begin connecting the oven.

Installation and connection of an electric oven

Connecting the oven begins with preparing a niche for placing the equipment. An electric stove is much easier to connect than a combination stove. It can be connected in one, two or three phases. If the electrical network has a voltage of 220 V, it is recommended to use the first option.

Safety criteria and manufacturer's instructions must be strictly observed. It is better to make a separate wiring for the equipment. Manufacturers advise using only the specified power for the device. It is worth remembering the following rules when connecting: switching to the switch occurs through separate wiring. Use screw terminals to connect the wires.

  1. There is a hole for the wire in the back wall of the kitchen unit niche. It needs to be pulled there from the network.
  2. The other edge needs to be connected to the oven. The purpose of the terminals, as well as the connection diagram, are indicated in the device passport.
  3. Then you need to unscrew the back of the protective panel and bring the PVS 3 * 6 wires to the contacts.
  4. Then place the phase wire (gray or brown) under the terminal with the letter “L”.
  5. Place the neutral wire (blue) on the terminal marked “N”.
  6. The ground wire (yellow-green) is placed under the screw with the “ground” sign.
  7. Next, you need to secure the wire clamp and replace the contacts of the protective cover.
  8. The device is then inserted into the intended location and secured.
  9. After this, you need to check the functionality of the electric oven by connecting it to an outlet.

It’s worth mentioning about the fork itself. The cable has three wires, most often greenish or yellowish in color with a ground connection. It connects to the ground terminal. The remaining two wires are connected to two different terminals. The contacts must be securely clamped. The functionality of the device is checked at the end of installation.

Cleaning system

Agree that cleaning the oven is not the most pleasant task. To facilitate this process, modern equipment is equipped with various systems:

  • Catalytic

A special enamel coating applied to the walls and top helps break down fat. The process occurs right at the moment of cooking; for this, it is enough for the temperature in the chamber to rise above 140 ℃. When the oven has cooled down a little, you will need to run a damp sponge over the surface and not a trace of dirt will remain.

However, a difficulty arises with the door and bottom of the cabinet - they do not have an enamel coating, so you will have to work on them. In addition, the service life of the enamel is 3 - 5 years, after which it loses its properties, and the removable side panels will have to be replaced with new ones. Although now there are stoves with protective material that does not lose its qualities even after decades.

  • Hydrolytic

Steam is involved in the process: you need to pour water into a container and place it in the chamber, activating the self-cleaning mode. It runs for about an hour and heats the oven to 70 – 90 ℃. Afterwards, you need to go over all surfaces with a soap solution and remove grease from them.

It is worth considering that if the contamination is ingrained or something is very burnt, then such treatment may not be enough and you will have to use household chemicals.

  • Pyrolytic

The most advanced of all existing options, since it requires the least human participation. The chamber heats up to 500 ℃, and at this temperature any dirt turns into ash, which, after cooling, only needs to be carefully swept away. But dirt on the glass door will still have to be removed manually.

During the procedure, the technician locks the door to prevent injury. Also keep in mind that the room will become hotter and an unpleasant odor may appear. So open the windows and close the door to the kitchen. Fortunately, the session does not last long - only 1.5 - 2 hours.

If you buy an inexpensive device that does not provide self-cleaning, then you cannot do without hand washing. In this case, use traditional methods or chemicals to clean the oven.

Gas oven

The built-in oven may well be gas. However, such a connection to the network can only be carried out by gas service specialists - all these nuances are carefully controlled by them.

Advice! Before connecting the oven, the gas supply to the apartment is shut off. Therefore, it is more profitable to install the hob right away.

The connection process consists of connecting the oven to a pipe that supplies gas to the kitchen using special gas hoses, and the gas source must be located at a distance of up to 1.2 m from the oven.

Before the final switching on of the equipment, the gas must be checked for inclusion - as soon as a characteristic smell appears, the gas supply is shut off again until the problem is resolved. Upon completion of the work, the equipment is connected to the electrical network (ignition and lighting operate from electricity).

It is impossible to imagine a kitchen in any home without household appliances for cooking. The built-in kitchen oven is now popular. This version of the equipment requires careful installation and connection according to all the rules. If you wish, you can install the built-in oven yourself.

Hood in the kitchen: luxury or necessity

A couple of decades ago, hoods were not particularly popular, but now they are a necessary attribute in almost every kitchen. What has changed? Much - from lifestyle to ideas about comfort. People began to pay more attention to what kind of air they breathe. The rhythm of life has changed, and when coming home, everyone wants to relax, enjoy the feeling of cleanliness, home comfort, and peace.

Kitchen hood with electric stove

Kitchen odors permeate clothes, textiles, and finishing materials in the house. They began to get rid of them mercilessly. A modern kitchen without a hood is unthinkable. Even if the stove runs on electricity rather than gas and does not emit combustion products, this does not eliminate the smell of cooking food. The air must either be removed from the room or filtered.

Hood under wall cabinet

Many people order professional design projects to make their home as comfortable and beautiful as possible. A couple of decades ago this seemed like an unattainable luxury, but now it’s par for the course. People's ideas about the right home have changed. It should smell pleasant, and not like bun pies, but with freshness and cleanliness.

The ideal modern kitchen looks like the picture - glass, metal, smooth shiny surfaces, clear geometric shapes. The area is used rationally, trying to achieve maximum functionality of the interior. Even small rooms can accommodate everything from a refrigerator to a mixer. A stove without a hood already seems like an anachronism.

Island model

A hood not only improves the air quality in the apartment, it can save its owner money. During cooking, small particles of fat and soot settle on finishing materials, furniture, dishes, and household appliances. As a result, surfaces quickly become dull, covered with a yellowish coating, and colors lose their saturation. Every year they become more and more difficult to wash, and repairs have to be made.

The hood cleans the air of grease particles, so the finishing of walls and furniture facades lasts longer without changing its original appearance. If the family is large and you have to cook often, then the exhaust system is an essential item, because... a thick layer of sticky yellow-gray plaque quickly grows on the tiles and fittings. However, in a family where they cook little and rarely, and the stove is electric, you can get by with other means - ventilation, an electric fan in the vent, etc.

Scheme of operation of models of different types

Discussions regarding the advisability of installing a hood continue. Many Internet users claim that these devices are not only completely useless, but can even be harmful. Their main arguments:

The ventilation system of the apartment is quite sufficient to clean the air. Hoods are not needed, and their popularity is explained solely by the interests of manufacturers of household appliances.

Scheme: supply and exhaust ventilation in the apartment

Particles settle on the grease traps of appliances, in which bacteria multiply. Exhaust hood is a health risk factor. However, if you clean and replace filters on time, the devices are absolutely safe.

Plaque on the grease trap grate

The noise that devices make during operation is annoying and drowns out other sounds. This can really become a problem, so when purchasing, you should give preference to a low-noise model.

Hood in a minimalist interior

A neat hood fits harmoniously into a space organized in accordance with the laws of aesthetics and expediency. It is compact, beautiful and, most importantly, cleans the air from impurities that settle on surfaces, thereby maintaining their shine and spectacular appearance. In a modern kitchen it is no longer possible to do without such a useful device.

Advice. When making a decision, be sure to take into account all the arguments not only for, but also against

It is important to understand whether such a device is needed in your kitchen. It happens that people buy hoods, but then don’t use them

Do not spend money until you are sure of the usefulness of the purchase.

An oven is an expensive piece of equipment, so it would be unwise to take risks and buy it from a dubious place. Product warranties are especially important here. Therefore, choose proven sites, for example (links lead directly to selections of ovens):

  1. M.Video – 621 oven.
  2. Citylink – gas and electrical cabinets.
  3. Eldorado – 680 ovens in stock.

Such large sellers often have promotions, so there is a chance of getting a good discount on your purchase.
