With open shelves	The main advantage of such designs is that the teenager will have all the items at hand. The only disadvantage we can highlight is that dust often collects on the surface. Such cabinets can be free-standing or installed around the work area (as in the photo) - this will depend on the capabilities of a particular room.
With doors	The doors in this case can be solid or glazed. At the same time, quite often such cabinets also have open shelves, which makes them more functional.

DIY book shelf: step-by-step instructions

In a teenager's room, a convenient shelf for storing books and other small items will be useful. Moreover, you can do it yourself. A grown-up young man can take part in its production himself.

During the work we will need:

• MDF sheet
• edge tape;
• jigsaw;
• a simple pencil;
• ruler;
• fasteners;
• dye.

Step 1. The first step is to display the details of the future structure. To do this, we draw a circle on a sheet of MDF.

Step 2. Next, you need to cut out the round parts using a jigsaw exactly along the contour.

Step 3. Then you will need to connect the structure using self-tapping screws.

Step 4. After which you can paint the shelf (in our case, white paint was used) and trim the edges with edging tape.
