Required tools and materials:

• PVA glue;
• brush;
• white paint (you can buy acrylic at a hardware store)
• fine skin;

• file;
• alcohol, acetone or white spirit to degrease the surface;

1. The device is disassembled and the clock mechanism is removed.
2. If the old picture was pasted, it is removed. If the design has been applied to the surface, it is degreased and covered in several layers of white paint with intermediate drying.
3. The surface is sanded, removing all roughness.
4. Remove the top layer of paint from the napkin, try it on the watch and carefully tear out (do not cut out) the beautiful middle so that the clear boundaries of the gluing are not visible.
5. It is better to carry out the next manipulation near the sink. The napkin is placed face down on the file. Moisten it generously with water from a spray bottle so that it floats on the file. Carefully straighten the folds with a brush. Then, tilting the file, drain off the excess water. The napkin is placed in the place where it is supposed to be glued and, carefully lifting it on one side with a brush, remove the file.
6. The paper is coated with a mixture of water and PVA glue (1:1). Allow to dry; small wrinkles can be removed by lightly going over them with fine sandpaper.
7. The product is coated with several layers of acrylic varnish. A novice needleworker should not spend money on expensive professional glue. You can purchase acrylic substances for saunas and baths in construction stores.

The final touch is assembling the chronometer. Then the product is mounted on the wall and the result is admired.

How to make a simple and original clock from plywood

Good day to all, dear friends!
In today's article I would like to show you an interesting homemade product to decorate your room. Namely, how to make a “mechanical watch”, a homemade product is essentially very easy to make, and absolutely anyone, even a child, can make it. We will use cheap plywood as the main material, and the mechanism itself can be purchased from our Chinese friends or taken from an old watch that is already tired. Well, let's not waste time and start assembling the homemade product. For this homemade product we will need:

- A sheet of plywood (30x30 cm will be more than enough) - A clock mechanism with hands - Dominoes (will serve as the numbers on the clock dial) - Popsicle sticks - A battery (for the clock mechanism).

We will also need the following tools:

— Hand jigsaw — Jigsaw (optional) — Sandpaper — Drill with drills — Hot-melt adhesive — Ruler — Compasses — Marker — Square.

To begin with, let's take a sheet of plywood; a square sheet with dimensions of 30x30 cm will be enough. On the sheet of plywood you took, using a ruler and compass, you should draw a circle with a radius of 10 cm. This circle will be the size of the clock (i.e. 20 cm) , if you have a desire to make the clock larger, then make the circumference larger. After that, inside the circle you just drew, you should draw three more circles according to the dimensions indicated below. That is, with radii of 7 cm, 4 cm, and 3 cm.

Then, to create a simple “pattern” we will need a Ruler and a square or, like the author of the homemade product, a square with a ruler. We draw two lines through the centers of the circle so that they are perpendicular to each other; for a more accurate result, it is better to use a square.

We continue to draw lines on the plywood. Parallel to the just drawn lines at a distance of 1 cm, draw more lines. The end result should look something like the one shown in the photo below. Use a marker to mark the parts that need to be cut out.

After we have completed the above steps, we begin cutting. First, let's cut out the very base of the clock. For this we will use a jigsaw, but if you don’t have one, you can use the simplest manual jigsaw. First, we cut out about 5mm from the edge, and then we carefully trim the edges along the contour more carefully. Then we need to cut out the “patterns” marked with a marker inside the circle. To do this you will need to take a drill and a hand jigsaw. We just take a drill with a thicker drill bit and drill a through hole. After drilling a through hole, remove the blade from the hand jigsaw and put it back on the jigsaw through the previously made hole so that the blade is inside the plywood. And we actually cut it out. We do this with all four parts.

For aesthetics, the workpiece should be sanded with at least simple sandpaper. For sanding, first use coarser sandpaper, and then finer ones.

In the center of the workpiece we make a through hole for installing the clock mechanism. The diameter of the hole should be slightly larger than the diameter of the seats for the clock hands.

Now let's make the clock hands ourselves. Namely, we will make the minute and hour hands ourselves. To make the arrows, we need ice cream sticks, and in order to distinguish the arrows, we need sticks from different ice creams. If you do not have the opportunity to find two different ice cream sticks, then you can take two identical ones, but changing one of them. To install our hands on the mechanism, one through mounting hole should be made in them. For the hour hand you need a 5.5 mm drill, and for the minute hand 3.5 mm (no more, no less).

Let's make the dial itself. To do this, take a piece of wood and turn it over with the clean side up. Now we should glue or draw numbers on the dial. The author of the homemade product decided to make a very unusual dial and used dominoes as numbers. To do this, take a set of dominoes and take out one domino from it with the sum of the dots on them from 1 to 12. We will glue the dominoes to the plywood using hot glue. First we will glue the numbers 12, 3, 6, and 9, and then all the rest. For the next step, we need the clock mechanism itself, and we will install it. To do this, turn the dial over again and use the same hot glue to glue the mechanism to the dial as shown in the photo below.

Then we need to decide where and how the clock will be installed, that is, it will be tabletop or wall-mounted. The author decided to make his clock a wall clock, and therefore made and then glued the following mount (see photo below).

All that remains is to put the arrows in their place. You should know that the hour hand is set first, then the minute hand, and then the second hand.
