Beds

A bed becomes a necessary component of the life of any person from the moment of his birth. Its design includes backs, side panels, frame, walls, legs. The main decoration of the bed is the headboard. This bed element can be made from various materials, have different shapes and stylistic designs. The bed is usually either made on legs or has a lifting mechanism, which allows you to conveniently place bed linen. This is especially true in small apartments.

The bed can be made of wood, MDF, chipboard, metal or a combination of several materials. Meanwhile, in any case, high quality materials must be used.

Beds may vary in style. For example, a bed decorated with carvings will ideally suit an interior decorated in a classic style, while low beds with straight shapes will fit well into a minimalist interior.

The bed should be stylistically decorated in the same way as the rest of the furniture in the bedroom.

Only a properly selected bed can ensure sound, healthy sleep and maximum comfort.

The mattress must take into account the anatomical features of the human body, which promotes proper blood circulation and muscle relaxation. On a good mattress, the spine will acquire a natural position.

While sleeping in bed, nothing should restrict your movements.

The bed should be the optimal height for getting out of it comfortably - not too low and not too high.

If you have limited space, a good solution would be to buy a transforming bed that can be hidden in the wall.

Loft style furniture

The appearance of the loft style is associated with the forties of the last century, when in America, due to rising land prices, industrial enterprises were forced to move outside the city, leaving many empty buildings. People began to convert these premises into housing, decorating them in an industrial style. Now this direction is used not only for the decoration of housing, but also for restaurants, exhibition and concert halls, fashion salons and offices. Industrial interior items help create a harmonious ensemble that reflects all the features of this trend.

Furniture in the loft style can be of different shapes and from different materials. To increase comfort, creative people prefer to use upholstered furniture. The loft style of furniture involves the placement of poufs and benches, and they should be of different colors and textures. If a sofa is installed in the interior, then it must be large and stand separately from the wall.

Industrial space can be decorated using the following types of furniture:

  • Cabinet-mounted is the most popular option. These can be chairs, tables, shelves and chests of drawers. They are very convenient to install at a distance from the wall, creating some kind of islands in the room. They can be made of wood, glass, plastic or metal.

Buying furniture in the loft style means doing without chipboard products in the interior, since they do not correspond to the overall style. All interior items should be freely located in the space without cluttering it. Preference should be given to very compact and concise models.

  • Modular - not used so often when decorating in a loft style. This is due to the fact that it is very difficult to choose a headset of a suitable design. It is much easier to select individual designs that fit harmoniously into the interior.

  • Built-in is a completely acceptable phenomenon for the industrial direction, usually represented by cabinets or dressing rooms equipped in niches. The main requirement of such interior items is that the façade materials match the overall style. So, if photo printing is used, then the image should be in the spirit of a loft. Sandblasting patterns are not used in this direction.
  • Soft – preference should be given to leather products. But if their price seems too high to you, then you can take a closer look at other upholstery options, especially if there are additional plastic or metal decorative elements. Also typical for a loft, as already mentioned, is the use of poufs and benches of various shapes. Many loft-style cafes purchase such interior items for their establishment.

Additional decorative elements in the loft interior can be graffiti, abstract images, signs with house numbers or road signs. In this case, the pictures can not be hung, but simply leaned against the wall on the floor.

The kitchen is a zone of culinary achievements

One of the important rooms in the house is the kitchen. The sacrament of cooking takes place there. And this process should be as comfortable and convenient as possible. Only then will the prepared dishes be appetizing and tasty and bring pleasure and benefit.

The main types of kitchen furniture are sets in various configurations. Before choosing kitchen furniture, it is necessary to make accurate calculations and also decide what household appliances will be present in the kitchen along with the set.

We can highlight criteria specific to kitchen furniture.

1. Type of kitchen area.

Depending on the available space, there are several options for zoning kitchen furniture.

  • Single-line kitchen area.
  • Kitchen gallery.
  • L-shaped kitchen area.
  • U-shaped kitchen area.

2. Kitchen set.

Manufacturers mainly offer modular solutions for kitchens. That is, you can independently select the required number of items and their sizes.

In addition to the tabletop, these are floor and wall drawers and bedside tables. Open, hollow, with drawers, with or without doors. They can vary in width, length, height, and depth of compartments.

3. Facades and frames of kitchen furniture.

They can be made from natural and artificial materials. Made from wood and its derivatives. And even glass and metal. Color solutions are multifaceted and depend on the overall scheme of the interior.

Furniture in Provence style

Provence implies a very elegant, beautiful and at the same time simple interior design. This style can also be considered from the point of view of furnishing residential premises. Many connoisseurs of French traditions strive to buy furniture in the Provence style. It was in France that it was customary to combine various natural motifs in the setting of a village house.

The color scheme of the interior is borrowed from natural historical landscapes: the atmosphere seems to be woven from gentle sunlight, a lavender field, azure water, white clouds, Provençal grass.

Here, only wood, metal, branches, wax, baskets and natural textiles are allowed.

Provence should be felt even in small details. Craftsmen specially age things and interior items, adding chips, rough surfaces, and peeling paint to them.

Furnishings are made from natural wood. They can consist of modules or individual products. The rooms are furnished not only with wardrobes and beds, but also with chests of drawers, sideboards, and tables.

Types of furniture

To make it easier to understand what kind of furniture it is and how to properly call it, all furniture elements are classified into several groups.

Furniture for storage. Such furniture elements come to our furniture workshop quite rarely, and, as a rule, they are antiques made of wood and require restoration.
Storage furniture includes items with the familiar names of “shelf”, “cabinet”, “bedside table”, “box”. Such furniture is divided into two subtypes: wall-mounted (shelves, cabinets and mezzanines) and floor-standing furniture (floor-standing cabinets of various modifications). Floor furniture can be different; we often get confused in the names of its types and may incorrectly name this or that item. Chest of drawers - a low cabinet with doors or drawers
Supplier - a low cabinet with shelves, sometimes with doors

Sideboard or bookcase - a tall cabinet with shelves and glass doors at the top and doors or drawers at the bottom

Wardrobe - wardrobe

Furniture for sitting or lying. Seating furniture is one of the most frequent guests of our workshop. Basically, this is upholstered furniture intended for short periods of sitting and working or for relaxing. Furniture for short periods of sitting and working includes banquettes, office chairs, regular chairs, chairs with armrests, ottomans, stools, kitchen corners. Seating furniture designed for relaxation is furniture on which you can place almost your entire body. These are armchairs, various types of sofas, large bean bags (pear type), etc.

Sofas are modular and frame . Frame - ordinary sofas with a solid frame. Modular are sofas assembled from several sections, fastened together with special fasteners, or simply put together so that the owner can move the modules and easily change their places.

Furniture for lying down - all the elements of furniture on which we usually lie. Among them there are also multifunctional interior items designed for sitting (couch, sofa, ottoman). Therefore, furniture of this type is divided into two subtypes: only for lying (beds of different types, mattresses, medical furniture, etc.), and for sitting and lying, which can be transformable (folding chair-beds and sofa beds, children's sliding beds etc.) and non-transformable (couch, sofa, ottoman).

Also, furniture for lying differs in size and functionality: single, double, single-tier, bunk, non-folding (regular beds), folding (folding beds, camouflaged beds, folding into a closet), with two backs, with one back, without backs and etc.

A banquette is a small bench without a back, with a soft seat, for sitting one or two people.

An ottoman is a stool with a soft seat, most often low.

A stool is, roughly speaking, a one-seat bench

Chair - a stool or ottoman with a back, can be equipped with armrests

An armchair is an element of upholstered furniture for relaxation with a high back and armrests, can be equipped with a folding mechanism and can be transformed into a bed

A bed is a piece of furniture for lying down for 1 to 2 people. It can be equipped with a drawer for storing bed linen. There are bunk and pull-out beds.

Cosette - from French. language “caussette” - to talk - a two-seater sofa with corner backs for sitting two people. Most often, with an open base.

A couch is a low sofa for one person to sit in a reclining position with one or two backrests on the sides. Most often, with an open base.

An ottoman is a low sofa for one person to relax. Can be equipped with a side backrest and armrests. Double sleeping beds are also called ottomans.

Sofa - a low, wide sofa with low backs and armrests of the same height.

Furniture for work, dining and special purposes.

This type includes all types of tables:

  • for eating and preparing food (dining, for serving and preparing food)
  • for work (laboratory, writing, drawing)
  • stands (for TVs, tape recorders, flowers, etc.)
  • special purpose (magazine, toilet (boudoir), for games (chess), for instruments)

Tables of all subgroups, among themselves, can be different in design, size, etc. They can be folding, sliding, equipped with drawers, etc.

Combined furniture is designed to perform more than one function. For example, a secretary is used to store papers and office supplies, and also serves as a desk. The chair-bed functions as furniture for sitting and furniture for lying down.

Classic style furniture

The last century has made significant adjustments to the development of design trends, as a result of which classicism has somewhat lost its position. Many new trends have emerged, but nevertheless the classics continue to be popular, remaining one of the most popular trends. Such a strong position of the classics is determined by the large number of its admirers, who choose a harmonious combination of straight lines, strict decor and chic accessories to decorate their interior.

Italian style furniture

Italian furniture (for the living room or other room) is made only from natural materials and has an exquisite, unique design. It is distinguished by the following characteristic features:

  • Reliability – all elements of the product are highly durable and provide a very long service life.

  • Environmental friendliness - traditional technologies for manufacturing furniture products involve the use of exclusively natural materials. This meets the most stringent European standards and ensures high environmental friendliness and safety of products for humans and the environment throughout the entire period of operation.
  • Style – all models of Italian manufacturers have a unique, unique style. Even after years, many interior items are perceived as works of art. The presence of Italian-made furniture in your home will indicate your impeccable taste.
  • Comfort – responsible manufacturers care about the comfort of their consumers, so the convenience and functionality of each product is thought out to the smallest detail. Italian furniture makers are characterized by special attention to product details.

The Italian style of furniture is particularly elegant and cozy. Italian designers are constantly creating new models, embodying their creative ideas in them. Every year new unique collections appear, the leading characteristics of which are high strength and wear resistance.

Many Italian furniture productions have centuries-old traditions and pass on the secrets of making their unique products from generation to generation. Connoisseurs will recognize the handwriting of Italian masters even from a small detail. There are several different styles of furniture used by Italian cabinetmakers.

Baroque, Rococo and Renaissance can be immediately recognized by their curvaceous forms, curved lines of legs and armrests and the overall massiveness of the products. Inlay with precious metals and intricate carvings add additional luxury to the pieces of furniture. The Italian style of furniture, with its presentable appearance, creates an atmosphere of comfort and luxury in the house. At the same time, the fundamental nature of this style is not comparable to the effect of other modern trends, such as minimalism and hi-tech. The exclusivity and elegance of Italian motifs create the impression of expensive luxury design.

Hallway furniture, living room furniture, kitchen furniture, home office furniture

Historians have discovered an interesting fact: it turns out that furniture in the form in which we all know it well did not appear in Rus' right away. For a long time, in ancient Russian homes, many interior items were, as they would say now, “built-in”: they were made at the same time as the house itself was being built. “Beds,” for example, served as beds (a kind of shelves under the ceiling) or wall benches. They were used by representatives of almost all classes: even nobles rested on wooden benches, perhaps covered with rich fabrics and overseas carpets. The first mention of a “real” bed dates back to the 15th century. The ancient chronicler preserved its image in his notes for posterity: it was a rather bulky structure mounted on four pillars. But for a very long time, foreign innovation was considered a curiosity, and the word “furniture” itself was often pronounced by people as “fable” almost until the end of the 19th century. Almost everything about furniture of the third millennium surprises: the boldness of design solutions and the originality of the design, the uniqueness of manufacturing technologies and even the materials themselves from which it is made.

Practical furniture for the hallway.

The most traditional item for any hallway is a hanger, wall or floor, equipped with hooks for outerwear and a shelf for hats. For a small hallway, a wall hanger is preferable: it allows you to place the maximum number of outerwear using minimal space. To store large items (or simply a large amount of clothes and shoes) in the hallway you need a practical and capacious closet. Many domestic manufacturers offer furniture sets for hallways, which include such a cabinet - one or two doors, in combination with a shelf for hats, a cabinet, a chest of drawers and a mirror. It is very convenient when the wardrobe is made to order. The fact is that serial models cannot always fully meet the specific requirements of a particular hallway. On the other hand, a custom-made wardrobe allows you to arrange all the necessary items in the best and most rational way and, moreover, takes into account all the features of the existing room as much as possible. When making a sliding wardrobe to order, you can choose an option for its design, external design and internal filling to suit almost every taste. For example, a cabinet can consist of individual items installed nearby or at some distance from each other, or it can be a solid two-, three-, or multi-sectional structure. Since the furniture in the hallway is used especially intensively, constantly in contact with moisture, dust and dirt coming from the street, it is necessary to properly care for it, and when using it, pay attention to the material from which it is made, as well as how it is assembled, because high-quality assembly of furniture depends from the master, as assembled by a professional furniture assembler and, accordingly, further operation and appearance of the product. Furniture suffers the most from wet and dirty outdoor shoes. Therefore, to ventilate the latter (which, by the way, it is very advisable to wipe it first), open furniture and cabinet filling elements made of metal or plastic should be used. But dry and clean shoes can be stored in shoe racks and on shelves of more “vulnerable” materials: laminated chipboard, wood, veneered with valuable wood species. Cabinet furniture for hallways today is made mainly using tiled construction materials with a variety of coatings: artificial (laminate, plastic) or natural (for example, valuable wood veneer).

Modern kitchen.

The traditional set of several cabinets has been replaced by easily rearranged modules, maximally open or even transparent. Many Western Europeans prefer to decorate their kitchens in a minimalist style, which creates the feeling of an open, light-filled space. Kitchen modules are the most ergonomic designs in which each item can be assigned a special place, so that everything you need is at hand at any time. To store food in the kitchen, there are special display cabinets with glossy facades, which are perfectly combined with built-in household appliances.

Stylish furniture for the living room.

Traditionally, it is considered good form to choose only stylish and comfortable furniture for the living room, made from expensive and high-quality materials. Modern living room furniture is lightweight and durable thanks to the use of new materials and technologies. When choosing furniture for the living room, designers advise following a simple rule: there should be exactly as much furniture as needed. In this case, the interior becomes more holistic, visually more spacious and lighter; the living room acquires its own style, meets the high demands of comfort and modern design. When choosing a particular piece of furniture, the personal taste of the home owners and their lifestyle play an important role. For example, in a living room intended for relaxation, comfortable upholstered furniture such as a sofa (sofa bed), various armchairs: a rocking chair, an armchair with a high sloping back, a pillow at head level or a footrest would be more appropriate. Modern manufacturers offer many beautiful models of soft sofas, often complete with armchairs upholstered in leather or fabric (an exclusive glass table coupled with an armchair and bar stools made of bent wood can be a successful addition to this group). Despite the huge range, there are several main types of sofas, fundamentally different in design. There are only three of these types: a sofa bed, a non-folding sofa and a sofa with a movable seat. Which type to choose depends, of course, on the taste of the owners, but it is important to take into account the requirements for the sofa. The main factor determining the cost of upholstered furniture is upholstery. Depending on whether it is leather or fabric, upholstery accounts for from 30 to 70% of the cost of the product, furniture assembly 3-5%. The same fabric, with the same chemical composition, but produced in different countries, will cost differently. This is due to the cost of labor and the price of raw materials. But the price of a fabric does not always determine its wear resistance. Another indicator that affects the price of furniture is the presence of removable covers. This is a big plus, since all problems with cleaning furniture are easily solved. When purchasing, carefully consider the seams. There are three main types: simple, false double, true double - the third is the most durable and reliable. The more complex the seam, the higher the cost of furniture. Be sure to ask what the frame is made of: solid wood or agglomerate (usually chipboard). The first is, naturally, preferable. A coffee table can also become a unique accent in the living room interior. In a living room, especially a small and multifunctional one, it is convenient to use so-called built-in furniture. Such furniture allows you to create an ideal storage system and at the same time is a stylish element of the interior and design. A few words should be said about shelving furniture for the living room. Here the basis is vertical load-bearing racks-supports, between which separate furniture sections, shelves, drawers are attached, which allows you to obtain many different combinations, including for attic rooms with sloping ceilings. In addition, living rooms may contain furniture for displaying collections (glazed display cases and stands are used). In modern interiors, the design and construction of special furniture for equipment plays an important role. Manufacturers offer special lightweight shelving, on the shelves of which books, magazines, cassettes, as well as the components of acoustic and video systems themselves are placed interspersed. Also very popular are special stands for speaker systems, stands for TVs and video equipment, as well as sections and modules as part of shelves and walls. Most of these pieces of furniture are combined and are used to install several types of equipment.

Elegant dining room furniture.

Despite the fact that a separate dining room is not very often found in typical apartments, we will still pay attention to the furniture intended for this room. “A place for dining,” be it a separate room or just a fragment of it, is always an important part of the home and deserves a separate mentions. In addition, many designers believe that today the dining room is gradually returning from oblivion and taking its rightful, truly royal place in the interior. And in the future, it is quite possible that the dining room will become as necessary a part of a residential building as an office or library. Most often, dining room furniture is selected in such a way as to leave the room spacious enough. In addition, the nature of the meal is also taken into account. For example, if guests drink an aperitif before sitting down to the dining table, it is convenient for this purpose to use a furniture group consisting of soft armchairs and a small coffee or serving table. This group of furniture can be placed both in a spacious dining room and in the adjacent living room, if the dining room is small. If the dining room is used primarily for family meals, and breakfasts, lunches and dinners are a pleasant ritual, the main attention, of course, should be paid to the table and chairs. If space allows, the dining room can be additionally decorated with a small table: serving or coffee. It can be a Chinese table made of polished wood or an octagonal one, reproducing the forms of traditional Muslim architecture, covered with magnificent ornaments using the technique of carving, painting or inlay. Particularly fashionable today are tables made of tempered glass on legs-stands in the form of stylized animal figures. Dining tables can surprise not only with the variety of materials, but also with the ability to transform: transform, unfold, become one and a half to two times larger and change shape. Chairs in the dining room can have a hard or soft seat, a straight or curved back - the designs can vary significantly. The main thing is that the chair is comfortable and functional. Of course, the furniture group in the dining room should correspond to the general interior style of the area where it is located, and most importantly, to the lifestyle of the owners, so that they can feel comfortable and comfortable while eating. In addition to the dining group, various cupboards and buffets are installed in the dining room. The buffet, reminiscent of a venerable butler, has a significant solidity, which is greatly enhanced if the buffet doors are made of solid wood of an interesting texture. This, depending on the style of the interior, can be an antique carved wooden cabinet or a modern display chest of drawers with glass doors behind which snow-white tablecloths and towels are visible. By the way, a chest of drawers is more compact than a closet and visually clutters up the room much less, especially if it is slightly raised above the floor and placed on legs. At the same time, its internal volume is used almost completely thanks to the drawers. The upper surface of the chest of drawers is also not empty: an exhibition of still lifes and various household valuables can be located on it. The choice of furniture and accessories for the dining room is now huge: these include modern designs, and classic dining rooms in the English style, and richly decorated furniture in the Rococo style, and many other options.

Ergonomic furniture for home office.

The term “home office” has appeared relatively recently, although the trend of working at home, in a specially designated office, is by no means new.
You can find many examples of this in the literature: in respectable pre-revolutionary Russian apartments, for example, the owner’s office was always equipped. An artistic description of a home office can be found in the memoirs of Alexander Benois, who lived in St. Petersburg at the beginning of the 20th century, and in the works of Mikhail Bulgakov. Thus, foreign experts conclude that the future lies in “home offices” as a permanent place of work, because working at home is more comfortable, saves time and office space, and thanks to modern technologies, the boss can easily maintain a connection with employees that is not inferior to personal communication. The result is so-called “multifunctional” furniture, which is perfect for productive work at home. While maintaining a modern design, this furniture simultaneously combines maximum comfort, perfect artistic form and high technology. When choosing furniture for your home office, one of the important requirements for it is ergonomics, or, in other words, ease of use. A person’s performance largely depends on this. High-quality office furniture in the West today is designed to be as ergonomic as possible, taking into account the anatomical and physiological structure of a person. It is mobile, simple and accessible to use, and can be transformed depending on the needs of each person, thereby creating the most comfortable workplace. Currently, manufacturers produce a variety of models of special computer tables (you can make a table to order, and in any style, even turning to samples of cabinets from the beginning of the century). Modern computer desks are spacious enough to store everything you need for work, and at the same time take up minimal space. The convenience of a computer desk lies not only in the fact that the design allows you to save space to a greater extent than would be possible at a desk, but also in the fact that the person working at the computer maintains the correct posture, which is also very important. The compactness and spaciousness of a specialized computer desk come to the fore if it is intended to be installed in a small home office. Here, such an economical design of a computer desk can be very convenient, on the tabletop of which the monitor is located, and all other working components are located on the lower tier (but it is necessary to provide sufficient space under the table for the legs of a seated person). It is recommended to select the optimal model of a desktop and all kinds of additional furniture - this can be various shelves, bedside tables, additional tabletops - very carefully, depending on the specific situation. There are also special storage systems designed to hold large volumes of documents. Experts have appreciated the advantages of such systems: in particular, the so-called “carousel file cabinets”. The storage system looks like this: folders and files are suspended in a carousel, on disks that rotate very easily in both directions. The main advantage of the invention is that the entire circumference of the disk is used. Storage systems can be built into cabinets (with the help of special rails, even ordinary cabinets are suitable for this) or made in the form of separate racks. The second important component in creating a comfortable workplace is the chair. Physiologists insist on using a chair rather than a chair in a home office. Ergonomic furniture, created taking into account the anatomical characteristics of a person, can prevent a number of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, other systems and organs. Depending on the nature of the work, you can choose chairs of various designs. For example, chairs with headrests or high backs are convenient when muscles experience prolonged stress: when working with documents, long telephone conversations. The headrest relieves stress from the muscles of the shoulders and neck. The chair should be compact enough to move and rotate freely at the table. For ease of movement, the vast majority of office chairs are equipped with wheels. This is important when changing body position while working. For the manufacture of professional ergonomic chairs, high-quality materials are used (such as genuine leather of the highest category and various synthetic fabrics with wear-resistant and non-stick properties), advanced technologies (for example, all chairs are equipped with a swing mechanism and gas lift). The chair swing mechanism is usually made of solid steel and can be fixed in two positions, initial and final. A special filler is used as padding - elastic molded polyurethane foam (PPU) of high density, which smoothly deforms under the weight of a person, copying the contours of his body. Thus, the anatomically correct position is quickly selected. The parameters of an ergonomic chair are selected or adjusted depending on the individual dimensions of the owner of the office. The following rules are usually used here: the height of the chair is adjusted so that the entire feet are on the floor, and the knee-thigh line is parallel to the floor. The lid of a properly selected table is located opposite the stomach of the sitting person. The table should be oriented in such a way that the person working at it sits facing the wall, which will dampen the radiation from the monitor. However, when moving the computer desk against the wall or placing it in a corner, it is necessary to ensure good ventilation for the computer. To do this, you need to maintain a distance of 25-30 cm between the wall and the table. In addition, bookcases or shelving are often installed in the office. Today, the use of colored furniture - for example, black shelving in combination with white walls, spot lighting and multi-colored book spines - is considered a very stylish solution for library interiors. Another color scheme looks very noble and modern - dark green storage units in combination with a light ceiling and mosaic parquet. The cabinets in the library are usually glazed (less often open); the library often contains comfortable low seats and ladders that provide access to shelves that are too high. In the reading area, it is customary to carefully select lighting sources, place low tables, a soft sofa, and armchairs. A classic solution for a library is furniture made from solid noble wood. In conclusion, it should be emphasized that when arranging furniture in a home office, it is necessary to take into account the layout of windows and doors and the various architectural features of the room. Almost everything about furniture of the third millennium is surprising: the boldness of design solutions and the originality of the design, the uniqueness of manufacturing technologies and even the materials themselves from which it is made. 2018-02-07T16:30:52+00:00, Furniture Service Masters

Modern style furniture

Over time, fashion changes rapidly, and design professionals have to constantly generate new ideas and approaches in order to keep up with the world around them. This also applies to interior design, because new pieces of furniture or old ones in a new design appear regularly.

Modern living room furniture has undergone significant changes over the past 10 years. Different approaches alternated and new unique items from famous designers appeared. But no matter what directions they represented, they all combined aesthetics and practicality. The modern trend of different stylistic approaches has been the use of natural pastel colors, simple forms and maximum functionality. We present to you a brief description of the furniture styles that have gained the most popularity:

Minimalism.

Recently, minimalism has spread widely in all countries of the world. This is quite simple in appearance and at the same time very interesting design direction involves the use of rather conservative and laconic furniture in the interior.

Of course, this approach borders on asceticism, but the minimalist interior, despite its restraint, is quite cozy and functional. There is a lot of free space and clear lines, but there are no unnecessary details.

The main features of modern minimalism can be called: a small number of pieces of furniture, conservative smooth facades and strict forms. The entire furnishings are usually decorated in monochrome colors, with preference given to all shades of white and black.

Furniture in high-tech style.

The use of a high-tech approach to the design of space and the selection of materials for furniture has led to the appearance of interiors, the style direction of which began to be designated by the phrase hi-tech. This approach involves the same strict forms and minimal decor. Also in this interior you can find transformable sofas and upholstered furniture consisting of separate modules. But the main feature is the variety of household appliances on display.

Preference is given to a monochromatic palette, using mainly white and gray tones, metallic colors, as well as a lot of mirror and chrome parts for decoration.

All rooms in the house can be decorated in a very interesting way. Thus, even bedroom furniture in a modern style can combine seemingly incompatible materials: leather with metal, plastic with wood, etc. At the same time, the entire environment will be as functional and high quality as possible.

Constructivism.

This rather young style dates back to the 20th century, when eminent designers began to look for the most practical and functional approach to decorating interiors and entire buildings.

Now the popularity of this direction is not decreasing. Many people are attracted by the high rationality of constructivism, clear geometric lines and pure colors. In addition, an important characteristic is the high practicality of the interior, decorated in this style.

Vanguard.

The modern avant-garde trend attracts many active young people who can afford to decorate their interiors in bright, non-standard colors, with extraordinary shapes and bold design solutions. Avant-garde is significantly different from any traditional movement.

Often, followers of the avant-garde refuse conventional finishing materials. In such an interior many different colors and details can be used. If you come across a setting in which there are many circles, stripes, rings or cubes in the design, then such a combination of form and content will directly indicate the avant-garde.

This direction is characterized by very bright rooms, for which both natural and artificial light are used. The main thing is that the lamps used are harmoniously integrated into the interior, without attracting undue attention.

Pop Art.

The name pop art comes from the abbreviation of the phrase popular art. In this direction, bright, extravagant natures were able to express themselves. This includes the hippie philosophy, which gave birth to several shocking trends. Thus, the modern mainstream is expressed in careless gloss and excessive glamor, accompanied by flashy tones.

The origins of pop art are associated with the fifties of the last century, when they began to pay attention to traditional things - food and household items. These familiar things began to be used in a completely different capacity, receiving a new life. So, a can of canned food could become a flower vase, and suddenly they began to hang clothes on the sculpture.

Ecostyle.

For a long time, people diligently introduced synthetics into everyday life, replacing everything around them with it as much as possible. But then came a turning point when naturalness became fashionable again. As part of the eco-approach, the color and style of furniture for the bathroom, kitchen, living room, bedroom and other rooms - everything should be in the spirit of nature, replete with natural materials and simple forms! Natural textiles, natural stone, high-quality wood, ceramic tiles and forged products were used.

If earlier they tried to get rid of everything rustic, now, in the spirit of eco-style, furniture made of wicker or rattan, straw and wool rugs, wooden chests, ceramic dishes and linen fabrics are widely used. Everything that nature has created for us should fill the interior.

If you have chosen eco-style for decoration, then first of all remember that the interior should have as much freedom as possible. You cannot clutter the room with pieces of furniture, depriving the inhabitants of a breath of fresh air. After all, it is the air that gives us strength, freshness and cheerfulness. There is no need to cover the walls with various decorative items. It is enough to place a couple of landscapes or still lifes.

Curtains on the windows should be airy and translucent so that light freely penetrates into the room. You can complement them with linen curtains, completing the image of natural freedom.

Materials

Most often, such models are made from laminated chipboards. Entirely wooden specimens are extremely rare and belong to elite goods. Sometimes natural wood and chipboard are combined, making only facades for cabinet furniture from solid wood.

Requirements for balcony furniture and useful tips for its placement

Modern materials:

  1. The most popular is laminated particle board. High-quality chipboard products can last 10–15 years. At the same time, furniture made from them is not very heavy and can (within certain limits) withstand high humidity. The main advantage is the affordable cost.
  2. MDF furniture costs a little more, but the boards are stronger and more reliable. Unlike chipboard, the material allows for fine finishing (carving, inlay) and wide variations in shape.
  3. High-quality cabinet furniture is made from solid wood. Beech, pine, walnut, and hornbeam are suitable for this. Environmentally friendly and very attractive material. With proper care it will last for several generations. The disadvantages include the large weight of the products and the very high cost.
  4. For furniture in a modern style (high-tech, minimalism, modernism) glass, plastic, and metal are used. The materials can decorate a room for any purpose (office, residential building, public buildings). Disadvantages include the high cost of some designer models and high maintenance requirements. For example, scratches on glass or plastic cannot be masked, unlike wood.

Caring for cabinet furniture depends on the material it is made of. With the help of modern means, you can extend the service life and maintain the attractive appearance of products even at home.

For finishing facades, solid wood, wood boards, mirrors, plastic, metal, and rattan (rattan palm vine) are used. The choice of material depends on the purpose and style of the furniture. For example, a regular or corner wardrobe with mirrored doors would be suitable for a bedroom; for a kitchen it would be more practical to purchase plastic or laminated chipboard. Natural wood is more appropriate in a living room or office. A wide range of facades for cabinet furniture and corresponding photos will allow you to choose an option that suits your style, quality and budget.

Scandinavian style furniture

Scandinavian style furniture has become very popular these days. It is distinguished by a combination of high functionality with simplicity and comfort, made only from natural materials. In this case, it is advisable to use a light color scheme of pastel tones.

Most often, Scandinavian furniture is made in white or its shades. Such light surfaces in the interior create an atmosphere of purity, lightness and perfection.

If you think white is too light, then you can use other pastel colors:

  • warm and cool shades of pink;
  • pale blues and turquoises;
  • pale yellow, brown, orange;
  • warm and cool shades of green.

To diversify the interior and give it a bright color accent, you can use a more saturated, spectacular color: blue, red, green. This design solution allows you to dilute the bright, cold space.

Every meter of the room must be used rationally, installing only the most necessary, practical things in the interior. It is important not to overload the room with unnecessary details.

Dining tables

These are representatives of another furniture group. The kitchen table is the decoration of the kitchen. In addition to the fact that the dining table must be characterized by external aesthetics, it must also be practical, functional, reliable, wear-resistant, and consistent with the design of the room.

Today, tables are represented by a huge variety, made of various materials, made in various styles, in addition, modern models differ in design and folding method. Tables are available in a variety of configurations and can be large, small, round, square, rectangular. Dining tables can be folded out like a “butterfly”, “book”, or be equipped with an additional one or two or more tabs inserted into the middle of the table structure. In addition, tables may differ in the material from which they are made. Tables are made of wood, glass, metal, plastic.
