It is made of high-quality rare wood and looks expensive and elegant. Such furniture has smooth curves of shapes and lines, no right angles or sharp contours. But we must not forget about combining different styles. A strict wooden bed in the traditions of the best aristocratic families will go perfectly with an oriental wrought-iron table. There are no canopies, canopies or curtains on the beds. Royal style does not tolerate sliding sofas or armchairs. These interior items should be made of wood, upholstered in expensive fabric and inlaid with natural stones. All furniture should be comfortable: chairs should have high backs, and sofas should have soft cushions. Victorian style is characterized by a richness of accessories. The walls of the room should be decorated with photographs or paintings (originals or status reproductions). Queen Victoria loved fresh flowers. During her reign, there were flower beds and greenhouses in almost every home of wealthy Englishmen, so this interior is characterized by an abundance of flowers: fresh flowers are in vases, and their images decorate the fabric upholstery of furniture or wallpaper. All accessories that are used to decorate premises must be expensive and high-status. The only exceptions are DIY crafts that make the interior as cozy as possible. Porcelain occupies a special place in the Victorian style. Porcelain figurines can be placed on the mantelpiece, in the closet behind the mirror, or simply have separate shelves for them.

English style furniture

The furniture for such interiors is massive and high-quality, but very decorated. In use are cornices, pilasters, brass fittings, handles of complex shapes, shields with keyholes for cabinets and drawers.

All equipment is hidden as much as possible in niches, built-in or finished with panels. An English interior should give the impression that it has been preserved untouched since the 19th century.

A traditional Victorian kitchen is always very large, with a workspace in the center of the room. If the space of your kitchen does not allow you to copy the best examples of that era, create such an interior on a smaller scale.

In addition to a central table or island, a Victorian kitchen should be filled with cabinets and appliances. But unlike kitchens decorated in other styles, here this furniture is not fixed to the walls, which means it can move freely. And even a heavy and massive sink should not necessarily be fixed to the countertop.

Victorian cuisine is rich colors, lots of decor, textiles and everything that can be called elegant and comfortable. Wasteful, but not tasteless - this is the motto of real Victorian interiors.
